I am Spartacus wrote:The National League lurches from one farce to another. There is no longer relegation to step 2 or promotion to step 1, though there is promotion to the EFL.
So why should the likes of Dover put any effort or capital expenditure in, to field a competitive side against those that are pushing for promotion? They can save what little cash they have, furlough all but the bare bones for next season whilst the more promotion orientated have a real good go.
This totally skews the league, the competition and the sporting integrity of the the pyramid system. If the FA had anything about them they would step in. But they haven’t.
The likes of Chesterfield, with their honest and sporting ethos approach to this season, will take full advantage.
If it has to be either of them, you know the pair of teams I refer to, please make it County.
