It was the 4th time I have watched a full Macclesfield game this season. They seem to start strongly in the 1st half and then run out of steam.

Southend United and Macclesfield Town have both been charged with misconduct by the English Football League for failing to pay their players on time.
League One Southend face another charge for fielding an ineligible player in their game with Lincoln on 1 February.
Macclesfield have also been referred to an independent disciplinary commission, having already been charged for failing to fulfil two fixtures this season.

Macclesfield Town charged with misconduct for non-payment of players

Macclesfield Town has been issued with a further misconduct charge for failing to pay a number of players on the applicable payment dates due in February 2020.
The Club has therefore been referred to an independent Disciplinary Commission for failing to adhere to the terms of the players’ contracts.
As this matter is now subject to proceedings, the EFL will be making no further comment at this time.

b) why did a player who had interest from a stable club, that could prbably pay more and be relied upon to pay, not want to push the move through?
