County away is a brilliant draw for Belper Town.
Potters Bar Town v Barnet, Carshalton Athletic v The Daggers and Haringay Borough v Yeovil are also good ties.

It's both. We could be playing anyone of them in 4/5 weeks.
Would be great to get Belper away

I must have missed the news when it was announced we weren't in the FA Cup this season

Will drawing Bury result in a bye? Or are they going to draw 1 lucky team (first ball out) to progress to the 2nd round without mentioning them?

That's an interesting question. I haven't seen any discussion on that point. The alternative could be to have a draw from all of the defeated teams from the previous round which could be interesting.

Bury were kicked out of the FA Cup in August.

Thanks Martin - however the point remains how will the void be filled? The article stops short of providing a solution.
32 teams will progress from qualifying round 4 add league 2 and league 1 teams leaves 79 teams.
Happy to be the team that gets the bye please.

I read an article that said they would decide around the time of the draw for the first round proper.
Probably so they can see if County need a hand.

Indeed.
From the article: "We are therefore now consulting with our stakeholders regarding the first round proper following their exit from the league."
I don't think there has been an announcement of that yet.

Keep Bury’s number in the draw and whoever gets them gets a bye, simple.
Saw something on twitter saying put all the losing 4th round qualifying teams into a hat and draw one out to qualify

Far too simple for the FA. They will come up with some convoluted system.

In that season when Manchester United failed to enter the competition I think that one of the beaten teams was reinstated. From memory that was Bury. Stand to be corrected though.

Bit of FA Cup news. Whitby Town beat Gloucester City 3-1 tonight, they had 14 fit players, 3 of which were GK’s and a CB played up front!
Magic of the Cup!

Chesterfield v Wrexham. From FA Cup Quarter-final tie in 1997 to non-league qualifying tie in 2019.
Oh well, never mind.

Just checked. You are spot on. Frightening thing is it was 20 years ago! Season 1999-2000.

As Bury have not been liquidated yet, I assume they will be included in the draw.
However I can’t see them able to play the game, so I suggest their opponents will get a bye.
