Did Tyler Walker getting sent off against Forest Green Rovers cost us 3 points today? If Tyler was playing then we would have won the game because he would have scored the penalty and goals change games. Vale heads would have gone down and the home crowd would have started to get on their backs. They had not won at home since they beat Bury 1-0 on 27th October. They have since been beaten at home by Swindon, Grimsby, Oldham, Colchester, Carlisle, Morecambe and Tranmere.
I was also a bit concerned about the fact that nobody seemed to know who should be taking the penalty. Nicky Ajose grabbed the ball but Jacob Mellis has scored a penalty for the Stags and Jorge Grant is good at set pieces. It looked like we had gone back to the old Rob Duffy days when he used to wrestle for the ball with Keegan Parker and Luke Medley. Mind you, Rob Duffy would have scored today. Ajose went and pinned a target to the goal and then pointed at it to give Scott Brown a clue where he was hitting it.
We need to go up in the top three because we will not be able to handle the pressure in the play offs.

Unfortunately the answer to your question is Yes. I think had walker played he would have made the difference including scoring the penalty.
Earlier in the season away at Cheltenham is another example I would give that shows what can happen with him in the team when fighting into stoppage time.

TW is the only one in the squad who was scoring consistently. Missing him for two games was going to be difficult and so it proved.
Preston and White's absences have also weakened our defence.

This is true. It's a team game and imo even if Tyler was playing the most we'd have got imo would've been a point (he probz would've scored the pen). We seem not to be able to deal with the high in your face type press and struggle to adapt to a mentality to counteract it.

Not much point in speculating that Tyler would have scored the penalty. It would have been a different game anyway and there may have been no penalty.

Well if we are a one man team then it's time to throw in the towel. If Walker had been playing then we may of not even got a pen. The entire game would of been played differently.
We were poor all over the park. The entire midfield had a off day Defence were poor. If Walker had played, Ajose may of not even scored..
All teams have suspensions and injuries but good teams especially the ones with a good budget overcome them.
We have been poor in our away games recently. Lincoln seem to get points even when they play poorly.. Bury and the Mk Don's are the form team where we are struggling away from home. If we have to rely on our home form then it's the play offs I'm afraid.
I'm keeping the faith but not as confident as I was a few months back. On the plus side, we will have Walker, Preston and Rose back soon.

Ajose has scored about 5 goals a year for the last three, Rose has scored 3 all season. We needed a striker in January and didn't get one, that's all. We're clinging on and running out of momentum but we have what we have and have proved all season that we are good enough so need to all get behind it and see it through.

......apart from last Saturday at home and most away games.
He needs to be better than OK if we are going to win promotion especially as he is our luxury player.
