I can see why fans are getting annoyed DF record is appalling n this is a results game I can't understand why from 83 minutes we don't have a recognised striker on the pitch.... should have taken CJ off because without a striker on the pitch his job becomes redundant n for the life CJ isn't a defender we finish with the potential of having 9 players marking 10

Lies, damned lies and statistics.
Forget last season. It isn’t relevant at all.
Of course it is relevant. Its about his reign as boss of MTFC, of which we can safely say has been underwhelming.

Overall its 21.7%.

Let’s sack the manager who’s only lost one league game this season and has us playing the best football since the early 2000s.
Strikers need to start putting there chances Away.
Lost one yes, BUT only won three, plus the end of last seasons debacle.
The strikers can't put their chances away if they are not even on the pitch.

His points to game ratio over 23 game is 1.21 which is 56 for a season.
Even giving him a clean slate and forgetting his abysmal record last season, his points to game ratio this season is better at 1.45 but losing 5 games all season would be scant consolation if we finish on 67 points.

People defending this utter tosh
If it was any other manager in the football league, he'd be gone. Because he's 'a nicer man than Steve Evans' we have to persist.
To stick with him would show such a lack of ambition.

Is that that the worst percentage ever as Mansfield manager? I'm sure Carlton Palmer had an average of 1.31. A league higher.
Let that sink in.

His game management is absolutely amazing
What to do when protecting a league
1) take off your only forward - instantly disabling any way out or potential of holding up play
2) play a flatback 10
3) have no-one on the halfway line from set peices.
Do the above when you’ve tried it at Macclesfield, Cambridge and Colchester when it didn’t work in any of those games, and look what happens.
Oh look, we concede and again don’t win.
Who’d have thought?

Agree but having seen some terrible seasons and managers, all were saying tuesday nights football was best in years. We need a goalscorer not another manager.

I don't necessarily think he should go now. There's no point. Give him another 5/6 games, then if needed make the with some time to spare before the January window opens.

The fact we had no strikers on the pitch makes Flitcroft come across as a bottlejob, and the squad come across the same quite frankly.

Or a manager that can spot a striker and having spotted one, doesn't opt to play the last 15 minutes without one?

I'm not calling for the managers head , far from it but jesus , I can't believe what some of the rose tinted glasses gang are saying .
Win the game in hand then we are closer to the play offs . For a start , that's not guaranteed and I'm definitely not confident we will win it anyway .
Fans are here jumping up and down because we won't be to far off the play offs. . That's no where good enough in my opinion, we should be pushing for the top three .
Lastly , why the hell are some getting hard ons because we've only been beaten once ?
We have played 11 games and won THREE .
There are games the players have been responsible for our results but the manager once again baffled a lot of us at the game with his subs and tactics . .
Then again we can continue to take the pee out of Chesterfield because how our season is going it's the only thing we will have enjoyment t in . You only have to look at some of the teams above us to see how poor how season is so far .

That was shocking today IMO.
No fight and bite throughout the side and we constantly allowed Bury players to run and run at us.
Got exactly what we deserved.
8 points dropped from winning positions.
Time to go Mr Flitcroft

This.
Utterly stupid thread.
Welcome to another season of mid table mediocrity chaps. You love it.
Nail on the head. So many fans are just happy for us to be mediocre as long as it sees us stay in League 2, I actually question whether they have any desire to see us go up and progress as a club or whether it’s something they’ll just take if it comes our way.
Radford has chucked a lot of money in trying to get us up for the past couple of years, that investment won’t last forever if we don’t go up. Season after season of just missing out on the playoffs doesn’t wet anyone’s appetitte. We quite simply have to start getting results, and with a record of 5 wins in 23 how can anyone be confident Flitcroft will take us up?
Bellwhiff, are you actually confident in him taking us up this season or do we have another couple of years finishing between 8th and 12th Just in case he finally gets it right?

Yeah I don't want him sacked yet either, it's too early unless you have a ideal replacement lined up which we clearly don't.
That being said, those who never gave him a chance and those that refuse to admit Flitcroft is seriously underachieving still are just different sides of the same coin.

Could be worse, we could be in chesterfields positon.
I can’t defend DF’s record, his subs or the constant drawing but if we beat Crewe then it doesn’t look terrible. The most annoying thing is even with a top 3 budget, we’re still being typical Mansfield.

The seeds were sown right from the start of his career... the home game against Lincoln. Go one up, then sit back and try to defend it. Shockingly cowardly tactics that he just seems to refuse to change. His stubborn personality and negative tactics will eventually cost him his job just as it did Murray. Why do modern managers try to make it so difficult... the game is just about scoring more goals than the opposition SO JUST MAKE SURE THERE IS A STRIKER ON THE PITCH!
