It will either be a tight game with a 1-0 win either way, or both teams go for it and it's a very open game which allows us to play to our best and we win 4-2 !!

Expect them to be another horrible side to play against and good at home. Would take a draw but could be edged either way.

We’ve had a couple of chances to really put ourselves away from the pack, whether it be at home to MK or colchester which sadly we’ve not taken, no harm done but could certainly do with something here to keep chipping away.
Think if we got that win we’d have one foot in league 1, especially with 3 home games in a row afterward.
We’ve proven time and again we can do it away, let’s go do it again!

If I correctly recall, the last time we were promoted from this division years ago, we played fellow promotion rivals Looton away at Easter.
We got well and truly beaten that day, I recall Wayne Corden having the ball thrown at his head by Kevin Pilkington, after a suicidal dribble into his own box resulting in him losing possession and conceding a penalty.
I think it was 5-2 that day but in the end both sides were promoted.
I'll go for a similar outcome overall and just a 4-2 defeat this time around.

Good advert for League 2 and Wrexham to get a late equaliser to make it 2-2

We usually do pretty well against teams who come at us, I think that's why our away form has been so good. That said, we've failed to beat them twice already this season. I would take a draw to maintain the gap, but I've a feeling we might sneak it.

We should have beaten them by 4 or 5 when we played then at home in the league. Absolutely battered them but a combination of poor finishing and quality goal keeping stopped us from scoring. Let's hope we play as well on Friday with a little luck in front of goal.

This has got an Ollie Clarke masterclass written all over it. 2-0 my prediction, in a game played out much like the Stockport away game (minus the injuries).

Going to guess Hewitt or Williams, Clarke and Maris (if available) or Nichols will all be in for this one, Bowery or Cargill on the bench, along with Boateng and DKD.

Cargil had a scan.
Williams "felt his achilles" so may not be fit.
Johnson and MacDonald are close to a return but maybe not starting.
My guess would be bowery RB and McLaughlin LB.
Having said that Aaron Lewis played majority of his career as a FB/WB so maybe he might be an inclusion there.
Edit: Hewitt qa son the bench too but I'm not keen on starting games so soon with such a long lay off. Not saying never play him but he's had 45 minutes in a reserve game after nearly a year.

I can't see him starting McLaughlin in a game where I think we will be more cautious than usual, I don't think he trusts him defensively.

If Willliams and Cargill are likely out (scan for Cargill which never sounds promising) I could actually see him starting Hewitt right and Bowery left, give EH 60 -65 then bring Macca on and switch JB to the right.
Just something Garner said about EH having a major role to play before the end of the season.
There's nothing like first team minutes to build up a players fitness.

Cargill will be a miss if unfit, particularly in an attacking sense down the left.

I agree. I think the difference with the cup defeat was that they didn’t necessarily push men forwards but they dribbled at us, which we have struggled with at times.

I think he's had 45 minutes in one game, and 65 in another.

Really hope DKD isn’t on the bench again. He’s our best player and biggest goal threat. Shouldn't be dropping him. We’ve also lost our last two games that he’s not started in (Walsall and Tranmere).

Wasn't there derision across this message-board when the XI was announced ahead of the recent home game versus Harrogate....

I too have a good feeling about Friday.
A draw would maintain our advantage but I feel in my water thay we will win.
