Supporters groups

As we get to the buisness end of the season I feel a special mention is required to those who work hard to ensure us fans have coaches to each and every game.

Yesterday there were 24 coaches. That's madness!

A lot of their work goes unnoticed and give up their own time for free to do so.

Ssa, every game without fail, donate to the club

Minty from westfield stags, unsung hero that bloke, raising so much for local charities/ hospice each season. Organised the memorial day yesterday for the fallen westfield stags and it was simply excellent

Beermen stags

Craig from Shirebrook stags

Bono from cockle.

Apologies if missed some but if you see these people buy then a pint. I most certainly wouldn't want that responsibility each week.

We're gonna have some excellent away days next season and will need these more than ever

Great post and echo these thoughts exactly.

Don’t feel as if the “unofficial” groups ever get the credit they deserve though, especially from those at the club.

Indeed. Minty works at a huge risk and huge financial personal outlay each match. Fortunately I think there's a bit of a contingency fund now just in case.

I'd love the club to formally recognise these groups somehow.

Can see us taking more than 24 coaches to MK as we should get as many tickets as needed (double what we had yesterday) and it is an awful place to get there by rail. Start booking early I would recommend.

We were in the cars held at a junction as the bus train went past and it was remarkable to watch.
I felt very proud watching them going past (even though the police held us back for 10 minutes before they came  )

Well said Jock.

A lot of great work by a lot of great people all for the sake of our wonderful football club. Those who organise and those who run the buses each week. Minty and the Westfield team, the SSA with Steve, Kieran, Josette etc, Shirebrook Craig, The Forest Town Stags, Cockle
Stags, amber and blue, the ollerton stags gang. Outstanding, every single one of them!

Yesterday was an away day the Westfield stags Kings arms branch will be talking about for years, what a day

I think there are now regular Stags buses from Forest Town Welfare.

Ollerton Stags have also run buses/mini buses.

Absolutely agree, all these people who give up their own time for nothing but love for our club deserve high praise and should really soak up the joy seasons like this bring.

There are two at Ollerton (Ollerton Stags & Stags From Ollerton)

Forest Town started up this year, work in partnership with Shirebrook & Cockle I think

Yes they all deserve credit they do this for the club we love.I can’t speak for the rest because I don’t know them personally but Bono I’ve known 50 years from the coxmoor Estate Kirkby like myself and many others from that Estate including the late Steve Hartshorn absolutely stags mad.Bono what can I say a real character who puts everything into organising us at Cockle Stags, he’s not been blessed with the best of health but always a smile on his face a credit to MTFC and us that follow The Amber and Blue.,

Fully agree, Craig at Shirebrook stags needs a lot of praise, organising buses for every away game and making it a pleasure for us all to travel with him. Been with Bono a couple of times too, the man's a legend. Keep it up all you guys, seeing that bus convoy on Saturday was special!

Agreed, what a bloke!

Was telling me on Sat he hasn’t got a ticket for Wrexham, the club should be giving him freebies for games like that, will still be doing all the admin for everyone going but not himself.

Agreed, Bono is a great guy.
He's taken me to the airport a time or two as well.

It's a thankful task ... some buses don't run smooth but then there's buses are like a dream... I took over the buses side at Shirebrook 5 years ago and its just grown and grown .... sometimes I wish not as much but mk we taking 3 buses which we wouldn't of dreamed of years ago....
I try to keep the prices as low as possible ... family's are welcome
We have managed to do mk for our member £5 a seat ....

All supporters group need a massive round of applause

Travelled with Craig a fair few times and can only say positive things about Shirebrook Stags. Warm welcome at the WMC before setting off and always a good pub stop on route.

£5 to MK is superb value.

Top man you Craig, we are all grateful!

The volunteers from all the supporters groups deserve the recognition and definitely a pint or two bought for them! Nice thread.

I've never met Minty or travelled on his buses but that's sad to read that he hasn't managed to get a ticket for Wrexham, he definitely deserves one.

We've recently started Amber and blue travel

It's a small group but it's just friends traveling together and having a laugh

But I want to take Craig for all his support and helping get us off the ground

Got nothing but respect for him and proud to call him a friend

No matter who we travel with there's a lot of work involved in sorting it but well done to Shirebrook stags, SSA, stags from ollerton, debdale, cockle, forest town and new inn without these groups some people would be able to get to games

I heard it on good authority that you can only travel with Amber and Blue if you bring an inflatable with you. ;)
