Thanks to our superior goal difference we only need a maximum of 16 points from the remaining 8 games to guarantee promotion.

We could do this with me playing in centre mid. We are too good

And dont forget boys and girls that 16 points also can be reduced by others dropping points and fading away. I can see us doing it anyway especially with so many games at home but it's not all on us. Great position to be in Stags

8/9 points more and I think that would be sufficient to see Stags up ?

If you look at recent points per game, the only 2 teams that would go above 80pts are us and MK

The required points will drop quite dramatically as teams around drop points. The positions will soon become a lot clearer

Looking at the table, it's really hard to see how we don't go up. I can't imagine us getting less than 9 points from the remaining 5 home games and that should be enough on its own.
To fail from here would require a bigger collapse than I've ever seen from any Stags side, and I just don't think this lot have it in them.

8 points to guarantee a play off spot. First things first.

I posted this earlier in another thread but it's more appropriate in here now this has been started.
89 points guarantee's auto promotion; MKD, Crewe & Barrow assuming they win all their games can only achieve a maximum of 88 points. Obviously lots of permutations in that as teams have to play each other.
Based on form (last 6 games) the top 7 come 29 April will be:-
Stags
(C), MKD (AP), Crawley
(AP) ... Play-Off slots; Wrexham, Stockport, Crewe, Barrow

Crawley !!!
They were many (mine included) tips for relegation this season.
Well Done to them !!

Stockport and MK drawing would be rather nice.

If the above happened.
Looking at the four to be in the playoffs I can only be thankful that we got automatic promotion. They're probably the four teams I'd least like to have to play in playoffs.

Let's hope Stockport can do us a massive favour then tomorrow night.

Crawley are trying for play off position, not automatic. If you look at their last 6 games they look auto contenders but the 3 games before that they drew 1 and lost 2. Statistics can show what you want them to if you alter the goalposts to suit

Walsall can only reach 80 points. We've already got 72 & our GD is a bit saucey.

Crawley can get to 85, but that'd put them into 7th in terms of maximum points. I think the maximum points that Wimbledon and the rest can get is 80 (Walsall). I could be wrong.

As we are one of the top 7 it’s the 8th most possible points that we need to beat to confirm playoffs which is Walsall with 80, Crawley would be 7th so don’t have to be above them.

Yes, that was effectively point in response to the 15 points.

We probably only need another 4 or 5 to cement a play off place anyway because there's no way all of the teams below us can win all their games.
Anyway stuff the playoffs.
