FGR scorefred sponsored by Making Vince-meat out of them

Postby gazza1988 » Wed Feb 07, 2024 5:36 pm

In here for all your match thread needs.

Will it go ahead? Had to laugh that 2 days before the game some weather apps are saying snow is due tomorrow (Thursday)

Our referee on Saturday will be Mr Sunny Singh Gill.

His first stags game was our 3-2 loss to crawley last season. Martin rated him "
Sunny Gill 6 Rightly gave the Stags a penalty in the first half. Could have given the Stags a second penalty in the second half. Made some poor decisions, both ways, but got more boos from the home fans than he deserved."

His second game was this season's 1-1 draw (5-4 penalty win) vs Sheffield Wednesday Where Martin rated him "Sunny Gill 7 Mostly handled the game ok."

Hopefully we should go one step closer and win this time.

Re: FGR scorefred sponsored by third time lucky?

Postby Martin Shaw » Wed Feb 07, 2024 5:48 pm

Met office hasn't got snow for Nailsworth (because the temperature doesn't go below 5 degrees), but it has got a yellow warning for rain Thur and Fri. Which could be just as much a problem. At least there isn't much rain on Sat, so we should know by Sat morning whether it can go ahead or not (though the team will be travelling on Fri of course).

Personally I wouldn't call this game third time lucky. That was Mansfield vs Forest Green, and third time lucky for that will be Tues 9 Apr. In my book anyway.

Didn't quite twig it was the original away game. Didn't even question it being on a Saturday. I'd likely be on my way to One Call Saturday and wonder where everyone is.

Need a new sponsor now, I agree April is the 3rd time lucky. If I'm still on then sponsor will be 3rd time lucky for the game 2nd time lucky for the thread

Glad were away to them this time, that pitch we’ve got would never take the weather for the next 2 days.

They’ve still not won since we were last due to play them (stretching back to october) so a great chance to continue the amazing away record this season…

It feels like we have a lot of games called off against these, does anyone know how many there has been?

They're 14 games without a league win.

We simply have to be beating teams like these.

They were on a massive run of no victories when we rocked up there in our first season in the conference, we lost one nil and missed a penalty. My god we were dreadful that day.

Thankfully that seems like a lifetime ago. Forest Green 0 Mansfield 4 and Nichols to get a least two of them.

Heavy rain tonight until early hours then
Light showers until tomorrow lunch time
Then clear until Saturday lunch, light showers thereafter.
That’s what BBC weather forecast says
So hopefully pitch should be ok for KO.

Alternative Sponsor: no need for an alternative sponsor, only good one all season

Said the same when playing the mighty Sutton, but we failed.

I don't think you're alone in that. If only we had some kind of like/ dislike button to determine it
