Postby KirkbyStag2 » Sat Oct 07, 2023 7:22 pm

I'm predicting Stags will need 81 points to finish in the TOP 3.

Current Table
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.12....4...8...0....20....1.67

Required for 81 points
PLD...W...D...L...PTS...PPG
.34...20...1..13...61...1.79
.34...19...4..11...61...1.79
.34...18...7...9....61...1.79
.34...17..10..7....61...1.79
.34...16..13..5....61...1.79
.34...15..16..3....61...1.79
.34...14..19..1....61...1.79 :D

Stags current PPG 1.67 would total 77 points over a season.

On course for the PLAY-OFFS.

Stags had 23 points after 12 games last season, so currently -3.

League 2 Lowest Number Of Goals Conceded

Looking forward to the Notts County game.
Notts have won all 5 home games, scoring at least 2 goals and conceding in every game (3-2, 2-1, 3-1, 4-3, 3-1)

If we make the play offs this season ......JR will be disappointed if his midweek interview was anything to go by.
He wants Top 3 !

Then it's hands in pocket for JR, we badly need a striker in January or before if possible.

On the current drawing I would predict we will end up scrapping for a play off

Unfortunately if don't start scoring goals and getting 3pts we need to start creating more in the final third, I can't see us being in the top three.

Here's a stat for you. From 2000 - 2020, the first team to 36 points has been promoted 16 times of the 20 seasons.

And 8 times out of those 16 times a team was promoted, the team first to 36pts won the league.

So there it is. Win the race to 36 points and odds are you're up.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

So Stockport were first to the 36 pts milestone. Must be a good sign that we've already beaten them. We have to keep on the march, it looks like a 4 team race for 3 automatic promotion places at the moment.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Looking good and thanks for keeping it updated.

Quick question though, how has our needed points per game gone up when we got 3 points yesterday?

it should have been 1.63, not 1.53, on Nov 11th

I have to disagree on the points required Kirkby.
Twice in the last decade 85 points have been needed to secure third place.

At the moment 84 would get you 5th, but that will shake down as the season progresses I'd expect.

Its a loaded question for fans Stockport=Wrexhamt=Notts County=Crewe=Barrow=Swindon=Accrington=Gillingham=Morecambe so any of the top 9 can finish in the top three.
And any team below can start a winning streak.
I wonder why so many in the game state take one game at a time,, dont aim to high or to low.
I read one post this week, that a fans forum is there so you can have a moan,
I thought it was to look for the positives and lift our spirits when things are going against us, .
After being unbeaten so far this season in the league and after a good home win 6 pages of content and praise.
Its a time for the Happy Clappers only, Top 3, Ground and infrastructure No.
The team well we shall wait and see, nothing certain in football, but top 7 looking good, and top 3 why put more pressure on the players.
I do know they will give 100% .
