Both teams looked lively so far. Would say they've had the best chances hitting the post and Pym's great save. We seem more creative than Vs Stockport but we haven't really forced a save despite having some good pressure.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Bowery attacking down the left and it's out for a Grimsby goal kick.

We're all bark and no bite. Not troubled the keeper.

They're having good success attacking our left hand side

Business as usual.

Clarke finds Hewitt who is tackled well as he took a shot..
Hewitt long throw into the area finds Akins and we win a corner.

Boeteng to take it.

Headed away. Hewitt has it on the left he crosses in again flicked on by Kilgour and headed behind for a stags corner.

Corner comes in. It bounces around a little and behind for a goal kick.

Grimsby attack. Get the ball out to their left trying to get past Hewitt but Hewitt blocks the cross for a throw in.

Throw taken long. Hewitt heads it back out to him. Hewitt closes him down and they win a corner off Hewitt.

Corner headed away by Akins at the near post.

Grinsby chip it back in and he looked through on goal and Hewitt gets across with an truly excellent tackle to prevent the shot. Ball ends up with waterfall and he fires wide.

Boeteng plays a cross field ball to Hewitt on the right. His cross in just misses everybody and out for a goal kick.

Harbottle chests down the goal kick and brings the ball forwards. Finds Clarke who tries to get past his man who blobks. The ball the hits Clarke and rolls out for a goal kick.

Grimsby attack and we counter Rhys Oates limping after colliding with the keeper. Grimsby counter Kilgour blocks the shot that loops into the area and Hewitt does well to head back to Pym.

A bit hectic that but was.

Thank god these can't shoot.

They attack down their right and get a cross in that Pym gets a touch to. Out to the Grimsby player on their left his ball inside is completely mis hit.

If we were playing anyone decent (eg salford the last home game) they’d be out of sight.

One thing for sure, those injured can't be worried about getting their places back.. just glad they can't shoot.

It’s looking a bit ominous this is. Grimsby should have had 2 or 3. We’re very lucky to not be losing here. I’ll be shocked if they don’t score shooting towards their away fans second half. These look better than us.

We look very rushed whenever we have the ball. We’re not building anything. We look a bit suspect at the back too, but that’s nothing new, we’re not good enough in defence. Everything ball that goes into their forwards is sticking.

Akins our best player in the first half.

Pretty poor, can't string 3 passes together in the final third, Boateng gives the ball away too much, can't cross it well when we do get into good positions. Only good news is we're not 2 down, which we should be.

Maris AND Reed need to be straight back in as soon as they’re ready, that is for sure.

Started off pretty brightly but become disjointed. No element of control in the game for either side, but Grimsby have had the better chances and will feel unfortunate not to be in front. Stags yet to test the Grimsby keeper.

Need to find DKD in those pockets of space between the lines. Some of the control and passing from Clarke, Boateng and Bowery had been really disappointing.

They’ve had almost as many shots in the first half as Stockport had in the whole game

Midfield is the problem. Too many players out . They are not providing enough ammo for the forwards and not offering enough protection for the defence. We are lucky to go in at the break all square.

Struggling down our left flank again. Jordan is so high up the pitch but has not really been able to get involved.

We are desperately missing Maris and his quality on the ball.

Keillor-Dunn looks lively and his first thought is always to go forward.

Hewitt has been very good as has Akins with his hold up play and distribution.

Grimsby certainly look dangerous though and definitely had the better chances.

Big 45 minutes ahead.

Boatang needs replacing. So slow and awkward whenever the call is within 10 yards of him.

Time to give Law a good run out
