He's not but he qualifies due to family ties.

I remember an interview in a Stags programme where he said he grew up in Ireland. Someone called Dublin posted it on here last month. We might receive an add on transfer payment if he plays for Ireland.

"He qualifies for Ireland through his mother. CJ is London-born but lived in Clonea, playing hurling with the club of the same name - as well as lining out for Carrick United and Portlaw United before heading back across the sea. Hamilton went from Carrick United to join the youth set-up at Sheffield United, before embarking upon loan spells with non-league sides Halifax and Gateshead. Following this, CJ had a successful four-year spell with Mansfield Town, scoring 15 goals in 142 games."

"CJ qualifies through an Irish mother. He played for Carrick United growing up. He grew up in Waterford."

If it brings more money into the club, I do. I'm glad he's doing well.

An unused sub in the latest Irish defeat.

How does it bring money into the club... I very much doubt there's a "if he plays for Ireland" clause in his sale

CJ was brought up in West London. He also spent some time in Ireland.

His first club was Uxbridge FC in West London.

He got a trial at Sheffield United, signed for them. Had a loan at Gainsborough and Halifax.

Then a loan at Gateshead and the rest is history.

Standard approach - go for england, if you can’t make it chance you’re arm at an inferior nation.

CJ came on as a late substitute for the Republic of Ireland tonight. If we have an International clause with Blackpool, we could have just made a few bob.

Out of interest, who was the last player who gained international honours after leaving us?

I have a list here, though I have not updated in the last couple of years and may have missed one or two

I know I need to add Stech, Murphy and Quinn to one section.

Has Owen Mason been capped for Ireland U18, or just in the squad?

Ryan Stirk for Wales under age side. If you have Murphy as a loan then Stirk should qualify.

Are you sure Martin isn’t aware of a permanent signing and is accidentally letting the cat out of the bag? :D :D :D

thanks Pete. Stirk didn't play for Wales age side while with us. His last game for Wales U21 was just before joining us.

Someone else on facebook said I should have included Lee Peacock. My answer to him is the same: he played for Scotland U21 before joining us. There are many such cases, so the list only includes players who played full internationals before joining us.

The difference with Murphy is he was a full international, like Stech and Quinn
