We're not trying to attract the young/Floating fans are we.
I wonder how many people would of taken the early bird season ticket deal if they knew the prices would be this high on a matchday?
I would say that £45 for a 7-12 year old season ticket is definitely an attempt to attract the young fans. They only have to go 4 times and they are in profit.
When my stepson was that age nearly 20 years ago it was £60 for a Junior ST and the matchday price was about £8 back then. He couldn't go to every game because sometimes he was at his Dad's when we were at home, but it still made sense to get him an ST as we were in profit after 8 games out of 23.
Sometimes people don't look at the bigger picture - I can usually make about 15/16 games a season so some years I win and others I lose, but I know people who normally do about 19/20 home matches and don't buy a ST because "I can't make it to every game".
Good point
But I just feel we would of sold more early bird tickets if they announced the match day prices a the same time.
When you have it in writing, in the same article, £45 for a season or £16 pound a match day, it will make people think of the bigger picture.
Anybody with any common sense would have known match day prices would be high compared to season ticket prices.

Based in what logic pete?
Personally I'd of thought lower prices to get the masses back in!
Like to preach as a family club but the matchday experience / cost is not family friendly imo

For me and the 2 lads its £60 a game
JR does realise were still in league 2 right?
Im sorry but £16 for a 7 year old is ludicrous
And people on here wonder why IPTV/piracy use is rife amongst us poor people!

I wonder how many moaning about match day ticket prices happily subscribe to sky or bt sports or wouldn't think twice about paying 25-30quid for a round of drinks.

Fair, but if you’re going to attract the floating fan or young fan if we do well, they’re not going to have the membership which defeats the purpose, basically the club have set it up to benefit either those who are fortunate enough to afford a ST, or those connected enough to know the QLE discount will work for them as they go to enough games.
The prices for new fans coming through if we did well are prohibitive bordering on offensive.
Once again those with STs or QLE memberships shouldn’t be the clubs target audience (obv you’ve got to keep regulars happy) and in this the club fail spectacularly.
Don’t forget we all only post all these as we want the best for our club

At these prices , the club are making sure that they will never have to rebuild the Bishop Street side, as there will barely enough fans to completely fill the IG stand, except perhaps, the odd occasion, during the season. In fact we could close the Quarry Lane stand and save even more cash.
FarnieStag wrote:Well at £26 for Upper West tickets that's my occasional matchday mate done with the Stags. He usually gets to about 6 or 7 matches and he works for the NHS in an admin job that's little more than minimum wage, so has finallly admitted it's no longer affordable for him.
As usual the Stags shoot themselves in the foot with a bitterly disappointing pricing structure which fails time-and-time again to lure in much-needed occasional/floating fans. I've not looked into it, but I'm pretty certain that these prices must be the same-as or at least pretty close to Forest/Derby?
And as for the "buy a season ticket!" brigade, good luck on seeing even 30% of matches with another lockdown looking more-and-more probable.

I can understand you moaning about the price of match day tickets. Maybe you should both consider investing in a QL membership given he attends 6 or 7 games.
Your last paragraph seems a bit mean and petty I have to say.
