Also I can't see Clough signing Hewitt, a right back, to play 2nd fiddle to a winger at right back.

Clough likes 3 keepers and if he can move Stech on then we would see a replacement come in.

I'm very happy with the attacking options we currently have. Same with midfield. I'd like to see a CB or left back come in. We have 3 right backs in Perch, Hewitt and Clarke, Gordon is a decent option as a backup. Don't need more in my opinion. Left back is a question mark for me. I can't see McLaughlin playing an entire season at left back. Charles is largely untested and that's it.

Perch can cover left back, as can Hewitt. But I'm guessing we're still chasing McMann. There will be at least one more defensive addition.

I've just seen that McMann has been featured in Hamilton's pre-season training video today.

The point I was making he isn’t primarily a right back. In NC we trust

As others have said, we could do with a Centre Half and a left back as a minimum. If the 3 transfer listed players were to leave we would only have 15 senior players at the Club.

Better get the Abacus out.

Bishop
Clarke
Gordon
McLaughlan
Rawson
Perch
Guy from Grimsby?
Clarke
Marris
Charsley
Lapslie
Quinn
Ward
Law
Sinclair
Bowery
Reid
Johnson
Oli what you call it.

Now another loan keeper from Forest.

Few more than 15?

I wouldn't class J Clarke, Ward, Law and Sinclair as Senior players so that's why I quoted 15 Senior players.

What would you class them as, just out of interest?

They’re not playing in the youth team and all will almost certainly will play first team football this season

 Guy from Grimsby is Elliott Hewitt, Oli is Oli Hawkins. The magnificent Devon Stag regularly updates our squad on one of the sticky threads at the top. On that squad list we have 26, which includes the two transfer listed players and Rollin.

Let's hope your right as I want all of our young players to be good enough for First Team Football. Sinclair will definitely play a big part in our League campaign. This said non are Senior players in my opinion.

Anyway that's just my opinion. I do believe we are short of a Centre Half and a Left back. I am really happy with the players that Nigel had brought in so far and feel this really is our year.

I share your optimism and agree that we are short of options at left back and centre back.

I’d trust James Clarke, Law and Sinclair to play games as they have all played and done well in this division.

Ward looked ok too, but probably needs a loan together with Knowles and Scott.

I’m not sure about Charles as we haven’t really seen him, but guess that he might need more development in senior football before he could be trusted to play a spell of games

I am sure most of the younger players will go out on Loan and will benefit from them. Sinclair, Jamie Clarke and Ward will stay and prove themselves capable of a first team place as I believe they are.

Pleased with all the signings so far but does anyone else feel that we have zero pace?

Sinclair is fairly quick, and Lapslie is a bit nippy. I'm going to assume Johnson will be our most agile forward out of all that we have but we don't have an out and out pace merchant

Do we need pace going forward with the way we are going to play?
Not really sure how quick our back 4 are going to be or who they are going to be at the moment.
You just know there is a stat somewhere giving the speed of every player or the eX Speed.

Jordan Bowery is not slow unfortunately he tends to put his after burners on tracking back instead of taking men on going forward.

Kellan Gordon is quick.

Not being pedantic but I think we just need to avoid a team that's not slow and tactically aware.

Pace does scare teams but lets be honest how many teams did CJ actually destroy with his pace?

Quite a lot  Ok destroy might be a bit far fetched, but he caused problems for an awful lot of teams.

He was brilliant in 17/18. Of course had his off days but his pace was a constant threat. No matter how poorly we were playing as a team, or how poorly CJ may have been playing I always felt like we could create a chance at any point when he was on the pitch personally!
