He int gettin 20 this year mate.

I think under Clough you'll see how a team can be successful without the weird obsession of having a single striker score 20 odd goals... we've had plenty of those types and achieved nothing because we rarely score goals from all over the pitch which is key. Broomo will know better than me but I think and certainly can remember when watching Burton that they all chip in with goals.

Doesn't look like many people want him because A. his wages (which were probably too much for most in the summer) and B. he's Been crap this season, although I thought he dropping deep and playing as an attacking midfielder suited him under coops.

Agreed, thought that was his best game for us this season.

Just been recapping our goals this season, made list of players assists/Direct goal involvement. Fantasy football point wise, ie if they win a penalty/Hit the post its down as direct involvement, here are the results.

Charlsey-8
Bowery-6
Gordon-4
Lapslie-3
Andy Cook-2
Maris-2
Benning-2
Mcloughlin-2
Sinclair-1
Clarke-1
Perch-1
O Keefe-1
Rawson-

Gazza

I've had a look at the rules and this is how it seems to work.

Any player contracted before 6 August 2020 and whose wages are over the divisional average is treated for salary cap purposes as earning the average.

Using your example the player is on £2600 and the divisional average used for salary cap purposes is £1300.

If you loan the player out then the amount that goes towards the salary cap (£1300) is reduced by the loan income you receive. However, you can't reduce it by more than the £1300 (i.e. you can't end up with a 'credit' to add back if you loan for more than £1,300).

So if Maynard was loaned out:

- and the new team paid £1000 a week then for salary cap purposes we'd be left with £300.

- and the other team paid £1500 a week then the salary cap wages would be nil (you can't go below nil).

All of this assumes that Maynard's wages are being treated as the divisional average, bearing in mind he may have signed up again after the deadline (TTF and I discussed this at the time he re-signed). If not then his wages just go in at what they are.

Someone asked another question which was whether you could avoid the loan rules by paying a loan fee. I think the answer to that is no - loan fees are specifically treated as loan income (i.e. like wages) for these purposes.

The rules are here:

https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/ef ... gulations/

Thanks for that. I wasn't sure how it worked.

Apologies, I assumed bbc's goal scoring chart would of just been league and added the 1 fa cup goal , it is indeed 5 so 13 direct goal involvement from him.

Don’t think he’s had a solid enough run of game time to say that.

Just to clarify this isn't including goals. Its the assist/final ball that led to a goal. I haven't included Mansfield goals where a defender has cleared the ball to our player, IE Lapslie goal vs Crawley.

This season. Its not harsh at all, he's done hardly anything in the 17 games he's played.

Did well against Sunderland in the attacking midfield role and can remember one goal in the box at home he scored (walsall?) and that was about it.

Id sooner his wage spent elsewhere.

I agree. He didn’t want to sign in the first place and hasn’t done anything of note all season.

I’m not sure what he’ll be on, but I bet he’s not cheap!

If anyone says that Maynard has been value for money this season, I’d be tempted to get them a HIA. He hasn’t. Whether that’s through injury or fitness in general, I couldn’t say but he’s been an ineffective member of the squad
