Are they giving it to Mal? Rose was claiming it, but a forest coach was saying "there was no touch"

O'keeffe looks quick and alert. Some nice 1-2s and not misplaced a pass yet.

The game's openeing up. Forest offside before putting it in the net.

Knowles misses a sitter!

There is also a Riley (Harbottle?), Danny (Preston?), Jordan (Lawrence-Gabriel?), Sam (Sanders?), Ollie, Barney, Didi?

Malique Spooner is one of them, recognise him from last season. There’s an ‘Oli’ as well, ginger lad in midfield.

GOAL!! 2-0

Great work from Josh Scott to battle for the ball and slot it to Knowles for a cool finish.

I want to know who the #10 in midfield was.

They were calling him Didi. Is it Yassine En-Neyah?

Glad Knowles got the goal, he was pretty poor overall but spent most of the game playing out of position.

I thought the coaches said that No.16 was Virgil.

Top performance against higher-level players. Well done to the young lads especially. Stone, Walker, Clarke, Sinclair, Scott and Knowles all did really well.

O'Keeffe and O'Driscoll were both excellent. Perch didn't do much, but closed well and covered ground. I thought everyone did their job though. Well done Stags, gaffer will be pleased.

Thought the midfield passing was good, and defence was really untroubled.

So have we gone from fearing relegation after losing to Peterborough to champions now? :D

Good win for the lads, pleased to see Jimmy got a goal. Can see him being in the first team this season

A good 2-0 win. The stand out players for me were Aaron O'Driscoll at the back and Tyrese Sinclair who must certainly be on the bench for the league games. Aaron O'Driscoll did really well in the middle of the back three and looked comfortable on the ball. There was one great ball in the 2nd half out to Kellan Gordon. He also made some good tackles and blocks. Tyrese worked his socks off and was a constant threat on the ball. He whips in some great crosses with his right foot.

James Clarke and Aiden Walker also did well in defence. There was one great block in the 2nd half by Clarke. Mal Benning and Kellan Gordon got forward well as wing backs. Mal Benning's free kick looked like it went straight in for the first goal. Both Danny Rose and Jimmy Knowles looked like they were trying to claim a touch but may have been offside if they had touched it. Kellan Gordon's final ball let him down and I do worry about his defending. James Clarke is a better defender. However it looks like GC might be planning to play Corey O'Keeffe in the right wing back position.

George Maris was good in midfield and showed that he can play the holding midfield position. James Perch understandably looked a bit short of fitness when he came on.

Jimmy Knowles did not have his best game but scored a good second goal late on after good pressing by Josh Scott. Danny Rose looked sharp first half and should have scored. Jamie Reid looks like he is finding his feet but I like the look of him. I'd like to see him have a few chances for shots on goal.

Overall a good workout for the Stags who included four young players and brought a couple more on off the bench.

Marek Stech, Farrend Rawson, Ryan Sweeney, Ollie Clarke, Will Tomlinson, Harry Charsley, Jordan Bowery and Andy Cook all sat the game out. Ollie Clarke may still be injured.
