Darren Ferguson: "I think it is the most control of the game we have had so far in that first hour and particularly the second half an hour. They didn't get anywhere near our box and we played some good stuff and got into some really good areas."

"It's been great. Great facilities. Mansfield have looked after us really well."

D Mac; "Great 120 min game against Mansfield Town for the squad. Looking sharper all the time. Some of our youngsters were outstanding as well including H Burrows and 17 year old Ben White sorry I mean Ronnie Edwards :)."

Ronnie Edwards and Ricky Jade-Jones for Peterborough are only 17. Harrison Burrows is 18. Archie Jones 19.

Peterborough highlights. It was Walker who gave away the penalty.

Maris and Charsley caught ball watching for second goal as neither of them picked up George Boyd. Maris could see his run. Alistair Smith was also high up the pitch pressing so Maris or Charsley should have dropped deeper to cover for him. Aiden Walker should also have been quicker covering around the back.

Did not see the game, but GC said we created chances. DF says we got nowhere near them?

I saw Cook and Reid miss a good chance each.

Early days.

posh are no push overs, they're a good league one outfit who like to retain possession and that's why GC picked them

Seems GC has fallen into the same trap as Dempster, Flitcroft and others. Keeps picking this Trialist bloke every pre season but we never sign him, and no-one ever knows his first name. I woudn't bother next year. Send him to Clownty.
Hang on a minute.
He must be decent as sometimes he takes up two places in the starting eleven. :)

Indeed. They’re closing in on being a Championship club. Very tough opposition imo. It’s what we need in pre season.

Compare it to last season when our first team were getting run ragged by U21 squads
