I wonder how Bristol Rovers team looked on paper when they were 5th in L1? Look at Northampton’s team on paper. Look at Sheff United’s team on paper. Look at Wycombe’s team on paper. A good manager makes a team outperform the sum of its parts. Let’s see what GC can do.

Well said.

You can start to see negativity creep into people's posts already. Fresh start, let's start with a bit of positivity from us maybe.

See Ex Agent James Goodwin has retweeted his 1st July original tweet, about us being still interested in Prosser and Woodyard.
Maybe Sedgwick heard right that Prosser will be signing next week. Hope so

Ex agent would be a decent replacement for Tomlinson let’s be honest.

Little idea of the starting 11 as it’s stands, need a few more.

Probably the slowest ever stags team I’ve seen on paper

Jeez, the back 3 are gonna have to score the goals too.

What a Smash the league side that looks

Have the last 4 seasons slipped your memory? We’ve gone into each with “smash the league” sides and never done it. Has the penny dropped yet that a team of overpaid players who all fold when things get tough isn’t going to get us anywhere.

The squads been cut down but is nowhere near finished. I’d rather have a squad with no “big” names all hungry to prove a point.

He retweeted it because someone asked about Prosser and he said he heard we were interested when the Bostwick rumours first started

In general any side needs a core of big names if they are to do well. T'spine of the side is important, t'is why we bought Clarke n Stech in for leadership and experience. Lots of players are hungry to prove a point and keep trying all their lives to do it, but remain in the lower leagues... because they can only prove that point once every 7-8 games or so, ie- they're not consistent.

There are a lot of teams who have been very successful with good players who were not considered great. The one thing they all had in common was an outstanding manager.I hope this will be the case with us.

A good example being MTFCwhen we were promoted into the old 2nd Division.

No stars, no big names, but a great TEAM.

Said when fat man was here and started signing big name players the fans will expect it forever going forward... Its got us nowhere in the long run and now players expect big wages when they come here.

The only big name players id have immediately off the top of my head who would make the side better are Nicky Adams, sarcevic, Graham Carey.

Kyle Dempsey released by Fleetwood. My first though on the player running behind Rose in the training video was that he looked like Dempsey facially, but the player in the video looks much bigger so ruled him out. Coupled with the fact that Dempsey is too good for League Two.

Sharpe follows Dempsey on Instagram.

Reading Twitter sounds like he was offered a contract but turned it down so must have something lined up

Yeah, I’d be very surprised if we got him, and I’m not even convinced it was him, but there’s a definite resemblance. That along with him being released and appearing to know Sharpe, thought it was worth a mention.

Being a Carlisle boy, might be most likely to turn up at Sunderland.

He was offered a 3 year contract in January which would have made him Fleetwoods highest paid players and turned it down ... source Blackpool Gazette

Probably well out of our reach but I think Sam Winnall is out of contract at Sheffield Wednesday.

There is also a little similarity to the mystery player.

Don't think we'd be able to afford his wages

There is nothing on the EX Agent Retweet dated after 2nd July which suggests he has retweeted because he heard of a new development regarding Woodyard.
Other sites are now copying stuff regarding us putting in a second bid for woodyard causing the proposed move to tranmere to slow down somewhat
