He'll calm down when Luke signs.

Beckett?

I thought we'd moved on to Mason Bennett now

No, mention Beckett to Yorkie and he'll have that far away look in his eyes... and maybe a little sob as he mutters, 'if only' to himself.

Hemmings missed his fair share of chances true, particularly early doors, but I rate him quite well. Once he got his first goal and settled down he was a good player for us.

From Barnet onwards (his first goal) he scored 15 in 29 league games.

Would probably back him to score 15+ for any side that isn’t completely useless at this level if he played a full season. He got 14 for County who went down that year!
Not as good as Walker or Maynard, but a decent player.

Have to agree, if we are in the market for another striker I would take him on the right money.

For me Cook has to be allowed to leave, no good having a player sat on the bench, receiving what is perceived by many as very high wages when he has told the manager he wants to leave.

Hemmings’ rumoured to be going to Burton, so a step up for him.

A decent hold up player and not a bad finisher. I’d have him back in the current climate

If Cook does leave, we need to reinvest the CJ money and the freed up wages from CJ and Cook into the squad ASAP. We are crying out for some more quality in key positions.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Agree. We have the makings of a solid squad at the minute, but lack any real spark in attacking areas.

Aware that Coughlans first objective will be to make us solid as that’s very much his style, but the squad would benefit from a bit more quality going forward/out wide. I wouldn’t describe anybody in our squad as a ‘match winner’. Reid has potential but without him doing it at our level yet it’ would be a stretch to label him as one at the moment.

CJ whilst inconsistent did have defenders on the back foot because he was capable of turning a game. Maynard is a threat at this level, his record over the last 2 seasons proves that and again could turn a game with his goals.
We haven’t replaced the two of them with anybody who can do that as effectively yet in my opinion.

Hemmings is decent, find a better striker at this level that can hold the line like he could, really intelligence when it comes to that.

Problem was his huge wages, and yes his finishing was frustrating too.

As a player he is streets ahead of when he left us and if that was the only consideration, he would do nicely thank you.

It isn't though and his thoroughly obnoxious attitude to others disqualifies the Mardy b for life as far as I am concerned.

Not overly impressed with their signings defensively. Taken 3 or 4 that were playing non league last season, as well as Jones and Taft who aren’t really groundbreaking signings.

He's a pantomime villain. Football needs them. He's always taken the piss with a smile so I don't really have a problem with him. If he came here, I'd find it funny. Football takes itself too seriously sometimes.
