He looks a broken man, the same broken man that did that interview at Ipswich prior to him walking out on Bristol Rovers.

Really? He has a good feeling about the squad, and proud of them. Sounds like it was an excellent performance, and only the finishing let us down.

I’d be a broken man attempting to get this lot of overpaid, average footballers to win games.

I saw him after the game. He wasn't broken at all. He was very frustrated at the result.

Says it as it is , but to us when he came in it was to save our league status and hopefully in a few games it will be confirmed.

Be great to give jimmy knowles his head and see what he can do the rest of the season :)

God himself couldn’t manage that bunch of overpaid spineless raspberries. Id count on one hand who is keep out of this squad.

Though the results and football hasn’t been ideal, he’s kept us clear of relegation while getting rid of some of the higher paid players at the same time. Whereas he’s hardly set the world alight, I’m sure he’s already got plenty of plans for who’s coming in and what he wants to do.

GC came to us knowing it was extremely unlikely we would finish below Stevenage.
He got rid of three high earners two of which were under achievers.
The players he has taken to get us through to May will have cost little compared to the three he got rid of.

He has now got the opportunity to start afresh and bring in players he feels he can work with and on lower wages than at present, that's my view of things.

Let’s get it straight, that was not an ‘excellent performance’ - we barely ever ventured in to their half! It was a pretty poor game, little quality from either side, few chances, and we ended up losing. If that’s the standard for ‘excellence’ then god help us.

That’s a typical league 2 game, a poor game between two poor sides, be it they top or bottom.
Been watching it for years

We had several good chances, they had the one shot on target. The defence made just one mistake. We were away from home at a club looking for their fifth consecutive win at home and pushing for an automatic promotion spot. Tactics were to suit that situation.
I don't know how we created all those chances inside our own half!

But the point is the although the result wasn't what Coughlan wanted he didn't sound "broken", and was full of praise for the team.

I just felt incredibly disengaged from the game, probably more so than I can ever remember in my life. Probably more a result of the season as whole and it feeling almost like a dead rubber than the game itself. Even though we had the odd chance I can honestly say I didn’t get excited at the game once, even our chances passed us by in a flash and we never put them under any sustained pressure. Almost come to expect that though with this team.

It’s a bit worrying to hear him talk about building something ‘with this group of players’.

There’s been a few sound bites like that recently, I’m hoping its just talk to try and keep the players on side until the end of the season.

Exactly this, hardly gonna come out and say he can't wait for the season to be over so can build his own team.

There may be a few that fits into his plans for next season but can likely be counted on one hand given that most of the contracts are up anyway.

Adamstag your comment last night "he's kept us clear of relegation." With all due respect I think Stevenage and Bury have done more than the manager to keep us clear of relegation!!!! If Stevenage were not dead and buried and there were two places for relegation we would be in massive trouble and I am not sure this group of players with this manger would keep us in the league.

Wrong. He’s increased the gap to the bottom.

Can’t have it both ways.

The facts are there is only one relegation place and at the moment Stevenage are well adrift. This manager and group of players don’t actually need to do anymore than finish 23rd to guarantee League football next year.
I have a sneaking suspicion that if Bury hadn’t gone bust and Stevenage be so far adrift at the bottom the January transfer window would have been much different and the Radford’s would have released funds to bring in better players sooner.

He prob realised he's peeing in the wind with most of this lot,
Hopefully by now he knows who he's shipping out and who to replace them with,
We all realised months ago.. Prob even after the shambolic pre season that this season was going to be a disaster.

Exactly, his remit would have been to get rid of some of the high earners while keeping clear of relegation, he’s achieved both. Admittedly he’s hardly changed the world in terms of PPG etc, but given the time he’s came in it will give him plenty of time to implement his style while establishing who he does and doesn’t want.
