Coughlan's decision to play Stone is a gamble in my opinion - could be argued that Olejnic needs more game time to find the form that had us as promootion contenders whenever that was - anyway it's the manager's call and he will have to bear the criticism if it backfires

More like wind backs.

Decided to upgrade from peas and mint sauce to sausage roll, well pleased with my decision. As for the game ...... tough conditions, no quality at all.

Danny rose makes it 1-0. Great goal from the edge of the area. Initial shot from Maynard which hits a defender and the loose ball ends up to Danny who was arriving late. Picks up about 22 yards from goal takes on one defender and finishes at the near post. It was a good break.

It started from a misplaced pass from Newport straight to tomlinson who passes it to Maynard who is 8 yards inside his own half and Maynard runs with the ball.

Good stuff so far, hope I've not jinxed it.

You just know that if we are winning with 10 mins to go it will be abandoned.
Another goal before half time please Stags.

Couldn’t make the game. Weather looks horrendous. How’s the pitch? Will it last the full 90?

It's a swamp of a pitch. Hard to judge bounce properly. It's slippery in places and the ball gets bogged down in places.

HT 1-0

We've had 55% possession.

Much better following the goal.

We need to keep at them and I feel if we get another early doors, Newport may pack up and go home. They have certainly let their heads drop and I just hope the manager doesn't lift them at half time.

Standing water on the pitch, it's tipping down & the wind is getting stronger by the minute.

Pitch holding up well & players on both sides coping quite well all things considered.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Mine was tender, as if cooked by Rick Stein

Much improved today, Danny and Kelland have been excellent.

California is an inner-city area of Derby to the south west of the city centre in between the A516 and A5250.
