This sounds like a good signing, doing a bit of digging he's been with Newcastle since under 9's and has been in and around their first team for a year and a half now so he must have something about him as Newcastle rate the lad.

Stevenage fans seem to rate him and he was involved in England U19's Euros in 2018.

Welcome to the Stags Kelland!

He played against us earlier in the season for Stevenage and is mentioned a couple of times by Martin in his match report.

My guy was right then, said we'd sign a defender on loan.

Don't know anything about him, welcome Kell!

Sounds a real utility player so that should be useful.

Stevenage played him as a lone striker the other week

Looking at the replies to the post where Stevenage announced he had been recalled it would appear their fans rated him, which considering they’re bottom nodes quite well. Newcastle gave him a new 3 year deal in November so they must have been impressed with how he was doing there also.

Felt a bit sorry for him, thrown into a squad hours after signing and asked to play CM

Didn’t make sense to me, he looked lost.

we all said the same, I lost count how many times he lost his man in midfield like you say you’ve been with the squad a couple of hours wasn’t really fair

You saw it, I saw it, the manager didnt. Don't think Coughlan reacted very well to the first half onslaught.
Me personally I'd have changed it after half an hour but then again when he brought on the constantly awful Tomlinson you may as well play with 10 men

He was also marking at least two men every time because Charsley was running around like a headless chicken.

Seems bizzare to do this, the pelters JD would've got doing the same.

You may say headless chicken, I may say he at least didn't look knackered after 15 minutes. He also didn't hide from the ball unlike some of his team mates.

You’re right, but there’s no point in pressing on your own from centre mid when nobody else has the legs to do it. He should’ve realised that and sat deeper, or been instructed to by the manager. He was fine on the ball.

Watts was better on the ball actually, but exposed off it.

I understand GC’s logic. If the team were leggy last night then Bishop would have been worse than most. Boss understands that Bishop can’t play two in three days with that intensity. The logic was sound, the selection wasn’t.
