But people wouldn't have him with us because he shouts at referees.

His track record of promotions made you feel like we could go and punch above our weight with him in charge. The football wasn’t the prettiest but we always battled right until the end and scored a lot of late goals, something we’ve lacked since. Nobody liked playing against us, we were difficult to beat and were on a brilliant run of form. It felt like it was a case of ‘when’ we get promotion with him, not ‘if’.
I know people will say he signed crocks etc, and it’s clear to see a fair few of his signings didn’t work out, but (and this will go against popular opinion) he was given a budget by the board and ultimately he found a formula that WAS working... until he upped sticks and did what he did, which I of course share the same resentment for as everybody else.
Anyway, no league games tonight

Id have him back and trust him not to run off again.... Unless the rangers job suddenly popped up.

I watched the Newport vs Salford game. It was a dull game. By half time, Newport hadn't registered a shot on goal and the commentators made a point of saying that as Newport hadn't registered a shot on goal on Saturday at Mansfield, that was now one and a half games in which they hadn't registered a shot on goal. They did get in some in the second half. Nothing in the game until the penalties when Ryan Inniss blasted his penalty over the bar. Salford get the cash windfall of playing Portsmouth at Wembley with Portsmouth probably bringing another very large following.

Watched it as well Martin,
Thought Asante looked a danger for Salford and Nathan Pond was the pick of their side, solid at the back.
Portsmouth will have around 35/40,000 at Wembley compared to Salford’s 3,000.
The Newport pitch was back to normal as well
