First thirty minutes we were quicker, tougher, sharper and hunted in packs. However Bobby made three brilliant saves so 2-0 did flatter us.. Changed when Tommo went off, left the midfield vulnerable and overworked .Second half long ball and hope. Overpowered by a good one touch side. FGR are not a pleasant side and use every trick to waste time. We battled and fought but FGR were the better side, they were fitter, quicker and technically better than us. GC has a huge job here without a doubt. We were heavy legged second half, not fit enough IMO. That is why we lost.

My conclusion is none of the goal keepers are good enough, 2 centre backs are required. Entire midfield is required.

The players are unfit and can only play for 35min, they lack the desire to win.

At times it was like watching a Sunday League side play Real Madrid, totally out played, poor centre backs and even poorer midfield.

Lets hope we stay in front of Stevenage and clear out most of the dross at season's end.

You can correctly blame the midfield all you want but the fact remains that their centre half scored two goals with free headers. There was no-one anywhere near him and we made it very easy for him to score.

Two other free shots brought the other goals and the fact is that we are not defending anywhere near well enough. Add in the numerous times they went through us like butter and things aren't good.

Preston Clarke and Benning made far too many mistakes for me and it wasn't helped by the midfield constantly giving the ball away or putting it into touch. We are playing too narrow front middle and rear and players must realise they have to run off the ball and find space. Instead we just form little gangs of 3or 4 players who just get in each other's way. And please please stop passing to the back of players instead of in front of them. It just slows play when they have to turn back to their own goal to receive the ball. Stupid basic mistakes that even schoolboy footballers should know about.

We haven't been good at corners since the conference promotion season. In fact all set pieces are generally useless when we take them

And the delivery from FGR today was excellent especially in the first half and from their captain in particular. So many times the crosses were screaming for a forward to get on the end of them .....we're the opposite in that we have forwards screaming for crosses

The tempo changed as soon as put Smith on, that's 3 games off the top of my head where he has come on in a winning position and we have not won, (orient, Northampton, today.)

True. The lad hasn’t got league quality at all. You can see that, unfortunately.

I agree if you're referring to acting and conning the ref.

That ref should never be allowed to officiate again, we were poor but he had a stinker.

Was the same ref that we had at Newport in our league game there last season. Stinker (just like the one we had in the playoff semifinal first leg). That playoff ref was the worst one I've seen for years. Incredible that the official that reffed against us in the playoff semifinal then officiated the Ipswich v Accrington League One fixture today. Speaks volumes about the standard of English refs (quite a few of them have over the years been experts in reffing against the Stags). Enough printed.

Yes it was, the first game when the rot set in. He wasn't very good at Newport either in fairness though.

Just hopefully know he's officiated us again the curse can be lifted and we can see an upturn in form.

Sorry but pep wouldn't get a tune out of this lot.

We “stole” a point off FGR at their place, after they had been the significantly better side.

Before their fourth goal, it looked like we had done the same again yesterday. Let’s be clear, FGR were the better side again.

However much it pains me to say it, we have got just about what we deserved in the last two home games.

It's more that no one knows where the extra bits come from. 5 extra minutes from a 45 minute half and then an extra 2 minutes from the 5 does not equate.

Not that the result is down to the referee, just to be clear.
