Re your notes on his conf Thurs. If he fails to get required points if he's a man of honour he should resign. He proffesses to love t'club it would at least gain our respect.

It doesn’t matter how bad a job you are doing There are very limited circumstances when you should resign as a manager.

Mutual consent maybe but what’s he going to do next? He’ll need the compensation to pay the bills, unless there’s a local head of youth development going he’s not going to get another job for a while so he simply can’t afford to do the honourable thing.

0.8 v 1.4 yesterday
1.7 v 1.3 at Swindon
0.9 v 0.4 at Macc
1.8 v 2.8 against Colchester
1.5 v 1 at Walsall
2.5 v 0.4 against Salford (the last time we won an xG battle, and we actually lost)

We're currently 17th in the xG table, which tells you the shot data backs up the fact we're not being unlucky and we're we deserve to be give or take one position.

Cheers MM that’s what I was expecting, plenty of backwards and sideways passing and very little creativity

There is a definite drop off in xGs created.

Mansfield's xG of 0.4 was the lowest of the season for a home game by a long way. The previous low was 1.1 against Plymouth Argyle.

Mansfield's xG of 0.4 against Macclesfield away was the joint lowest for an away game woth 0.4 against Exeter City.

Newport County 2.4 Mansfield Town 1.5 (HT: 1.5 v 0.2)
Mansfield 1.7 Morecambe 0.8 (HT: 0.8 v 0.75)
Carlisle United 1.1 Mansfield Town 0.8 (HT: 0.6 v 0.65)
Mansfield Town 2.6 Leyton Orient 1.7 (HT: 1.8 v 0.25)
Mansfield Town 1.9 Stevenage 0.5 (HT: 0.65 v 0.4)
Exeter City 1.3 Mansfield Town 0.4 (HT: 1.2 v 0.2)
Mansfield Town 1.4 Scunthorpe United 0.9 (HT: 0.75 v 0.5)
Crawley Town 2 Mansfield Town 1.9 (HT: 1.6 v 0.6)
Mansfield Town 1.2 Cambridge United 2.6 (HT: 0.75 v 0.3)
Port Vale 1.4 Mansfield Town 1.8 (HT: 0.6 v 0.6)
Mansfield Town 1.1 Plymouth Argyle 1.2 (HT: 0.2 v 0.95)
Grimsby Town 0.5 Mansfield Town 1 (HT: 0.25 v 0.4)
Mansfield Town 4.4 Oldham Athletic 0.6 (HT:1.3 v 0.3)
Forest Green Rovers 1.5 Mansfield Town 0.8 (HT: 0.7 v 0.05)
Mansfield Town 2.5 Salford City 0.4 (HT: 1.15 v 0.1)
Walsall 1.5 Mansfield Town 1 (HT: 0.7 v 0.4)
Mansfield Town 1.8 Colchester United 2.8 (HT: 0.8 v 0.8)
Macclesfield Town 0.9 Mansfield Town 0.4 (HT: 0.2 v 0.3)
Swindon Town 1.7 Mansfield Town 1.3 (HT: 1.3 v 0.55)
Mansfield Town 0.8 Cheltenham Town 1.4 (HT: 0.55 v 0.7)

We are now 17th in the league in the xG table (W7 D4 L9 = 25 points) so we are under achieving by 4 points.

Are you right?

Why would anyone with a young family walk away from full time employment to have no income for the foreseeable future?

I gather personal finances is not your strong point

I think JD has many qualifications (not all footbal related) and is clever chap. I'd imagine with the contacts he's got he'd find work in a week or two.

He will stay in the game. Just not at senior level management.
