Honest enough assessment from Dempster, despite the awful interviewing. Inspired substitution my bottom. Two down one up front. Bring a proven scorer on. Ask the questions I want to know the answers to. What's the crac with Mellis for a start. Lots of you think he's not bothered when he's on the field, but when we are crying out for someone to get the ball down in midfield and keep possession by finding a yellow shirt.

Agree regarding Mellis. When he’s available to play again, I would absolutely love to see a Shaugnessy-Macca-Mellis midfield with Khan playing behind Maynard and Cook. It would be a perfectly balanced midfield in my mind. Shaugnessy shielding a back four, MacDonald being his energetic self getting up and down the pitch, and Mellis and Khan getting on the ball and creating chances. I’m sure if the aforementioned players all played together, we wouldn’t be having halves of football where look completely outmatched like we did again today in the first half.

We stole a point from a really good team today. We were poor in the first half and improved in the second half - primarily because we took off the hapless CJ. FGR’s big central defenders had Maynard in their pockets - his best game needs good wing work and/or incisive penetrative passes from midfield, neither of which happened in the first half.
Cook came on and his physicality challenged their defensive composure.
We got to the bye line down the left and put in a decent cross and, low and behold, Cook headed in emphatically. Cook took advantage of some rare FGR miskicking in their box and he had a great idea - HE SHOT and, low and behold, he got his (albeit slightly fortuitous) second.
Thereafter he was knackered but battled on, and could have had a hat-trick.
Anyway, we got a point that we hardly merited - FGR should have gone in 5 goals ahead at half time. I’ll take that.
We play Salford on Tuesday and I expect to see our owners to be there to see us take advantage of the gathering momentum.

Why doesn't Stevo ask the difficult questions ?

"After last week's performance why did you set up differently "

""What was your thinking behind playing CJ who has seemed totally out of sorts"

"Wasn't it worth playing Cookie up front with NM from the start"

"You keep substituting Tomlinson at half time. ..why do you keep going back to him"

"After his hat trick last week do you think you've ruined Nicky Maynard's new found confidence"

Anyone else have any suggestions too?

Hamilton needs to consider if he wants to take this seriously because he’s been embarrassingly poor for absolutely ages.

Because he’s a toady and because he’s useless.

That is one shattered disbelieving Mark Cooper!!! Good on him not hiding his feelings and thoughts or sticking behind mundane platitudes.

Anyone else thinking we should have cashed in on CJ last year?
