But honestly Pete who would you rather have in the team....Khan who is an attacking creator playing consistently well or CJ who has hardly done anything of merit since January and can't control the ball or hit the target at the moment

What gets me, is that the people who are slaughtering CJ, are the same people who get so precious, when Dempster I s criticised. A million pound player under DF and now he can't kick a ball. I wonder what's changed? By the way, he's not the only one not showing there true quality, under this manager.

So is that this managers fault perhaps?

Did DF get way to much out of last seasons squad and we are simply seeing this squad perform as it should.

CJ like the rest of the team, looked great for 3/4 months last season. Unfortunately a season lasts for 9 months and for the bulk of it we were average at best.

The best and perhaps the only position CJ plays well or is actually effective is playing in front of Benning on the left wing.

This is also Khan's favoured position. I would like to see them both in the team, but Khan would have to play in a different position.

Hamilton started his downward spiral to Non League at the game away to Notts County in February......

He's no balls for a fight goes missing in games n when he's through on goal can't make the right decision...

One good goal since February n that was in the play off away at Newport.....

Not a great return with the amount of game time he's had.......

Once quoted a million pound player ???? What would he be worth he was a footballer.....

Needs shipping out on loan...

Perhaps Steve Evans will offer £1m in January for CJ

Only if he's still at Gillingham. I see they lost yesterday to his former employers

CJ has had ample opportunity be the first name on the team sheet nailing down a starting position that he cannot be dislodged from.He ought to be the Stags player whom kids sing songs about and pretend to be when playing footy in the playground at dinner. The kind of player whom opposition manager’s reference in their pre-match interviews, the kind of player that bullies defenders with his speed, the kind of player team mates look to when in possession as an outlet, one brimming with confidence, with match winning confidence and match winning knowledge. In short the kind of player that when the team is sat in the dressing room before a game, the other ten look at him and think, ‘We have a chance today as CJ is on the pitch’.

But he isn’t and at 24 with 100 games under his belt I don’t think he will. Consistency is the key ingredient that is missing here and unless he applies himself to achieve this I think he will become a bit part player.

Personally I want him to be as good in ninety minutes of a game as he can be in five / ten minute bursts, make the headlines, go on to bigger and better things for both himself and us, ultimately being fondly remembered in conversations like we have on here for years to come. Just sadly, I don’t think it will happen.

There's a player in there, as he has shown over the last two seasons. Can the Manager and coaching staff get it out of him? He seems like a player who needs a lot of reassurance, a lot of praise, and a lot of instruction.

Which is? I think there’s good player in there somewhere, he’s got the ability you cannot reach pace and should frighten the life out of L2 defenders.

Is that you DF or JD?? The only two who can't work out he's an out and out left winger, perhaps you make it three

From minute 1 yesterday a load of Stags fans were on his back. If he did anything wrong they shouted abuse at him, if he did anything right ( he did sometimes) just silence. If he missed a header, foul language, Maynard must have been overpowered the air a dozen times in the first half but no comment. I bet CJ was pleased to be on the other side for the second half with just the FGR fans abusing him.
His best position is left winger not cents forward or on the right side of a front three pivot. JD struggles to find his best position with his current strategies.
Head down now, waiting for the flak.

Our fans have always been the same. Mostly idiots who find it easier to shout abuse and then wonder why they aren't confident

Is best position is out on loan for 3 months he doesn't have the fight spirit or bottle to get stuck in when needed. I've never shouted abuse at the lad but I've shuddered with embarrassment for the lad when he miss kicks a ball trips over his own feet n I think I can count on one hand he's got his head to a ball.

I feel sorry for the lad he's to nice of a player for Division 2.

The last two Saturdays I've listened to the Talk sport 5:30 commentaries.
Stewart Pearce sees things from the players and managers views.
In the first instance he was talking about Spurs performances this season compared to last season. More or less the same players but so lacking in confidence that they are nowhere as good, especially with the fans on their backs.
This week he was talking about players the fans want to play but are not selected by the manager. Psycho's view was it was all down to what the manager sees in training. If a "star" player can't be *rsed to perform in training then he will not pick him. If a player is training hard and demanding to play, then he is more likely to be selected.
In both instances they're true for the Stags. We don't know what goes on behind the closed doors in training. Performance levels are monitored so the management know who is at 100% and who isn't.

He's just the latest target for the 'whipping boys/girls', it was Logan but his performances, saves, etc has quietened them down obviously Dempster has shut a few up with 2 wins and an excellent away point at FGR, so they've moved onto CJ.

CJ could do with spending time with Rose & Macca and learn how to be a fans favourite regardless of how you play or even want to stay at the club.

No doubt his best position is down the left, I often think he's a better option at left wing back than Mal, he's quicker at recovering and getting back into position.

Can’t tackle and useless in the air though. I like the lad but he needs some specialist coaching regarding his concentration and ball control.
Also would only play him left wing and stick him on the halfway line when defending a corner. That would take up two opponents to mark him and give us an outlet when defending
