How about the gentleman who used to stand next to the dug out who used to shout C’mon my bonnies!

This is what an unhappy Danny Cowley said yesterday after Lincoln's 2-0 defeat by Scunthorpe. It does not sound like Lincoln can afford to buy Krystian. It looks like he is saving his remaining money for a loan striker - Tyler Walker?

"I don’t think we can afford a centre-half if I’m honest,” said Cowley.

But the real area of concern is up front, where the Imps are lacking both cutting edge and personnel at present. “We definitely need options up front and we need a number nine,” added Cowley, who is doubtful a striker will arrive in time to face Accrington. We’ve known that for a long time, but if you can’t pay for players then you have to respect that you have to use the loan market. That's because the level of player we need, to take us to where we want to go, you don’t get on a free transfer. We are staying patience, we know what we need and we have saved some money back for that position, but it is in the loan market where we will have to work. We are in a queue with a number of other clubs for the same players.”"

“We’ve got 19 players and four of those are really young professionals who are finding their way in the game. We’re short of depth, there’s no hiding place from that.

When asked if he was concerned by the current situation, he said: “I’ve been worried since the moment we got promoted, that’s the truth. I’ve been telling everyone. Not everyone wants to listen unfortunately because they want to live off the momentum of the last three years. But we’re stepping into a tough league and we’ve just been comprehensively beaten by a League Two team in Scunthorpe. I thought they were good, but we’re a long way off where we need to be. If we play like that, we’ll be relegated."

This place would have been on fire if we'd have lost 2-0 to a team from the division below us a week before the start of the season

I thought yesterday we could have done with playing somebody like Wrexham or Solihull Moors away as a warm up for the Newport game.

Northampton lost 1-0 to Brackley last week but Keith Curle tried to shrug it off by saying they deliberately played the game when the Northampton players were "fatigued". They beat MK Dons 2-1 at home yesterday.

Port Vale lost 2-1 to Bury at home

That was probably my dad. He had some very peculiar shouts.

Scraped 3 bob together on a Saturday morning used

1/9 to get into North Stand
5d bus fare each way from and return to Sutton
4d programme

That left a penny remaining for four blackjacks.

Lincoln have made some good signings though, to be honest.

They'd have been off to West Brom if they were as skint as he keeps crying about

I was surprised to hear on TV this morning that the permenant transfer deadline day is THURSDAY 8th August.
I thought once the season starts permenant transfers in the EFL cease until January.

Put me straight on this please.

Transfer deadline day for Divisions 1 and 2 is 2nd September 2019. It's 8th August for the Premier League and, I think, the Championship.

Did you go mate? Tyler was sat in the stand with Jorge & a few others.

The Cowleys don't look happy, not sure all is well there.
