Newport fans seem to be getting a bit of a hard on over our away following Thursday, whilst forgetting in their last 9 visits to Field Mill the only times they managed over 300 was on opening day when away turnouts are always high. They've had a couple of sub 100 turnouts.

I've always had a lot of time for Newport, but my God some of them don't half sound like Spireites.

I think if we had held the first leg at the Wonk on Thursday there would have been no more than 250 Exiles there.

Maybe we should just quote our average away support for the season.

Last time they came to Mansfield on a weeknight - our 5-0 home win last season - where they had months to plan for the trip they managed 57.

Newport should be disappointed if they don't sell out, its a weekend game, kick-off 2 hrs earlier than the 1st leg mid-week game helping for them traveling back, first time they've been in the league play-offs and had 3 extra days to sort out travel arrangements.

If they are getting giddy over taking 1000 fans for the first time this season then let them. Maybe its the thought of driving through Derbyshire that's got them excited?

Either way more the better and makes for a better atmosphere.

Just noticed Sunderland v Portsmouth 'only' pulled in 26,000 last night. 10,000 down on SAFC average and Pompey got nowhere close to selling their allocation.

Play offs losing their appeal or daft kick off times to accommodate TV?

On telly has a detrimental effect on gates when the opposition has to travel so far.

So when we’ve only 500 tickets left is this 500 minus the actual capacity or 500 less this made up capacity of 6500 or so?

It always seems to change

the game is not all ticket, so it is the same discussion as for the Stevenage game. Home capacity is therefore around 6500, which is around 90% of the seats.

Newport also paying towards travel costs (fair play to them for that)

Our capacity is 9186. All the loopholes seem to make that figure never possible.

Just been on stags tickets just over 200 left.

Should be pretty dam close to a “90 percent sell out” in the home ends.

Seems strange going North to come back to Mansfield.
Nice big car park and quiet pub probably swung it though.

There seems to have been some confusion regarding the ticket office opening times today. Official site last night suggested that office opened at 10:00am. There were some queuing from 9:30am. Office actually opened at 12:00pm. Official site now updated to 12:00pm opening. Some waited over 2.5 hours to get tickets. Sandy Pate not open either so those waiting could not get refreshments. The club get a lot right theses days, but still are getting the little things wrong. Still room for improvements in some areas.

Club did put out on Twitter well in advance that the ticket office would be now open from 12 to sell any remaining tickets.

Short notice I agree given its been advertised as 10 all week but sufficient time was given. Tweet is top of this page.

They changed the ticket office opening time yesterday evening from 10am to 12 O'clock. Daughter decided yesterday afternoon that her and the Grandson were going so I've just got back from ground. Managed to get 2 in A Block. Steady que of folks and just over 180 tickets left mainly in Quarry Lane.

And yet when we played Northampton the 'sold out' gate was 9,200 with a functioning Bishop Street stand.

I think a proper audit of the seating at the Wonk is needed 'cos Haslam's original claim of a 10,000 capacity was always a load of old pony.

It SHOULD have been, but then lots of things that SHOULD have been done weren't.
The biggest cut from 10,000 was when Haslam decided the ends wouldn't be as wide as
originally planned.when you look at each end block, they're obviously half the width of the others
So 2 full blocks of seats were lost that way. Also some rows got taken out of the west stand.
Even with an all ticket game, I don't think we've over 9,000 seats to sell.

When BS was open overall capacity was around 9800 I think.

For th Northampton game A block was closed off which is around 400 seats then the odd couple in each block plus Northampton returned a few tickets after we best them at there ground.
