Why won't anyone say it?

Postby Field Mill » Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:39 pm

It's garbage. It's been poor since Christmas. We didn't have a shot in the first half. It was a 're run of Oldham. Timid, hesitant, negative, limited.
Why don't we get on the front foot? Get in the opposition's half early? No cojones at all, so let's not say it's all to play for at MK. Apparently we have a promotion budget. The Radfords have been let down if that's the case, whatever happens now. Oh for the lads of our last promotion from this division! Liam, Disley, Leroy - all youth products, all kids in that season and all mentally strongtougher than what we have today on half the wages!

Everyone looks knackered imo. Ran out of steam

One last push next week and hopefully we do it as I don’t fancy us to even get to the play off final let alone win it.

If we're still 3rd at 5pm next Saturday, then that will be fine and dandy.

Will we be 3rd after 46 games another performance like today? (and last Monday) that's what counts.

Yes we’ve been bang average since January, do our performances of late warrant us being 3rd? Probably not.

BUT...we are 3rd with 1 game to go! Shut up moaning and get your arses to MK next weekend and help fire us into League 1

Hopefully we can get over the line, we’ve been poor for a while now, but ultimately it won’t matter if we go up. From going 8 points clear of 4th to hanging on for dear life is testament to how we’ve fallen away

Given that every time we’ve had a decent crowd away we’ve not shown up it’ll be interesting to see how they fare with 3000 plus away fans.

Hopefully the players and the manager can show they aren’t bottle jobs after all.

The "football" if it can even be called that, resembles some of the poor displays we witnessed in the Conference. If they can't grow a pair to perform in front of crowds, and haven't got the confidence to get their foot on the ball and play, then they aren't League One players anyway, simple as that.

Find it really bizarre how some folk talk about how lovely our football is. An occasional flash of passing but generally we are very dull to watch.

I haven't heard anyone say how good our football has been recently. We are bang average.

We don’t win the first ball, we don’t win the second ball, the passing play that won over the fans has been replaced by two touches and bang either down the wing or into the middle.

Just said it - Football how it should be played is what we demonstrated prior to Christmas so for the last few weeks there should be no exception.

Players - bunch of raspberries houses or can you do it?

It's in our hands. Yes it would have been better to do it comfortably but we haven't. No point imploding now and hanging the whole team out.

Pretty much all of us would have taken this before we kicked a ball. Last game and a win, perhaps a draw, gets us promoted. It's a great position to be in and I would have taken that last August.

A season is over 46 games. We've not been great in a lot of them yet still find ourselves in pole position. 1 good result and we're there. If we miss out and fail in the play offs then fine let the slaughter begin. Until then we need to back our boys and believe.

Can’t argue with any of that pal. Some ridiculous comments on FB and here tonight.

We'd probably all accept where we are now if we hadn't also imploded last year.
I'm getting sick of starting with 5 defenders and then predictably panicking and changing it to 3 or 4 up front at the end of the game... this very rarely works.

Steve, my comments are based upon 45 plus games. The last ten have been, to be frank, a pale imitation of what we have been. My comments are not a knee jerk reaction based upon today but based the lowering of our footballing standards and ethos. Asking players to win the first or second ball is basic, not asking for the earth.

I have been extremely positive until today, though today has been the watershed.

I'd accept where we are with 1 game to go had we fought our way into contention. Instead we've had a great chance to all but wrap it up this week and we're bottling it. (Not to mention losing to lowly teams in a lean period back in Jan/Feb that could have seen us comfortable) Only by the teams around us own ineptitude too do we find ourselves in this fortunate position.

Let’s get behind the team now and dissect it when the season is over. No point doing it now, it’s not helpful to anyone.

If DF starts with the team you posted above then he should be fired on the spot by JR.
