Racist chanting, or wrong end of the stick?

Postby cornish stag » Sun Mar 31, 2019 7:48 pm

Thoroughly enjoyed the Exeter game, but really confused about one or two peoples efforts to start a chant based upon a nursery rhyme involving sheep, I can't figure out if it was aimed at anyone in particular in bad taste, was just a bad choice of song, or I'm missing something blatant and habe the wrong end of the stick?
Any thoughts?

In a nutshell, someone tried twice to start singing baa baa black sheep behind the goal in 2nd half. I just can't figure out why?

Seeing as the person in question was black himself I really can’t see this being anything to do with racism.. I had been out there him throughout the day and I think maybe he had one too many of the old pop! Nothing to see here move on.

well it’s a silly thing to sing at football but if you can’t figure out the intent and it’s not saying any banned words where’s the racism? That said there could always be someone there to try and make a problem out of it.

So we’re winning away and someone starts thinking of black sheep.

Doesn’t sound odd at all, we hadn’t picked up a random spireite had we?

Why is it racist? I've seen lots of black sheep in fields.

He's one of my pals and no he's not racist at all he'd just had one too many.
If it worried you that much why didn't you ask him why he was singing it?
He was also trying to get their keeper to sing Baby Shark with him...
Is that Sharkist ?
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Ahh fair does, I didn't realise it was him who was singing it!
To be fair I did wonder how impressed he was in hearing that, but case closed if it was him!

I did enjoy his babyshark barracking at their keeper too!
With what happened in the euro qualifiers last week I was hoping nothing came of it from Exeter if they got wrong end of the stick, as I have.

Definitely the wrong end of the stick. Possibly the wrong stick from the wrong tree.
