Yes I loved going there once and traveling back on a mini bus and having twenty youths come out a pub on the A6 and attack us and try to put the windows through.

No thanks, hope they stay where they are.

My first away trip on the supporters coach was to Stockport, one Friday night in 1967, October 13th to be precise.

When returning to the coach after the game, all the coach windows were smashed.

It was very breezy over the tops on the way home.

Sandy Pate made his debut in that game.

Just a note on Stockport. Their crowd of 6,311 against Spennymoor was a record for the Conference North on Saturday and eclipsed our crowd figure (U18's free for us) by over 1000.

I'll be having a flutter on the Bury gold cup next Friday.

The Bury Black Pudding Stakes on the Thursday is always a good one too.

Fantastic support but Stockport has nearly 3 times the population of Mansfield.

This must be some kind of initiation ceremony Pete as I had the same experience on an East Midlands Bus leaving Preston at my first away match on 22nd January 1977. Some friendly Lancastrians decided to brick all our window to make up for us beating them 2-1. We ended up driving over the Peak District and through Chesterfield on the way back. Some Spireites started giving us some abuse as we pulled up at a red light so a couple of big lads at the back jumped out of a smashed window and started chasing them down a street. The traffic lights then turned green and the bus driver drove off. When we arrived back at the East Midlands Bus Station all the Stags fans just jumped through the windows. It was like a scene from The Warriors.
