Remember him? At the risk of name dropping my Dad gave Dave's wife a lift to work, dropping me off at Carter Lane School en route.

He was loaned to Nottingham Forest, as at that time they had a goalie crisis, and played for them in what was then the top English league. We got Duncan McKenzie on loan in return.

Definitely Humphrey’s see vintage team photo’s 1965/66 & 1967/68. Hollis was always first choice keeper. I do remember him playing away though at Q.P.R.

I think it was Graham Brown, who we signed at the beginning of that season (69/70 ). The other keeper we had on the books was Des Finch.

Dave was released at the end of that season and Duncan McKenzie went back to Forest, despite attempts to sign him. Apparently we couldn't afford the fee said to be under £10k.

Talking of keepers I bumped into Ray Kirkham on the station a few weeks back. Played in the late 50s with Lindy Delaphena etc. Anyone remember him?

Alan Humphreys went on to manage your youth football club - ONRYC.

Coincidentally, we played home games at Woburn Road - now the location of the RH Academy.

Through ONRYC, Steve Ogrizovic emerged. Alan got him professionally signed at Chesterfield - subsequently, Liverpool and Shrewsbury, before going on to play over 16000 times for Coventry.

Edders, I would have been more impressed if he had got him to sign for us instead.

Nevertheless, well done that man. :)

Surely Duncan played for the Stags in the earlier seventies, the same time as Graham Brown.

One of the games he played for Forest was against Chelsea.
His brother John was in the Chelsea team and there was an article in one of the tabloids.
They had a bet. .. Think it was a fiver a goal (my 1st weeks wages :D ).
It ended 2-2..
we're gunna need a bigger boat.
