Tend to agree. Was surprised it didn’t have one.

a little bit worried by this, given our past history for signing (and paying) players who are injured, who then barely appear for us.
lets hope its a minor niggle, that is easily fixed.

It’s a calculated gamble mick, but if one of the centre backs were to get injured now I wonder what the options would be?

Building for next season in my opinion, higher league experience, experience he can share with the younger lads, signed a contract to end of season but will stay if we get promoted - this is I see it.

He'll be lucky to get into the team this season, barring injury or suspensions.

Flitcroft interview said he’d be available in 2 weeks so don’t think the injury is a bad one

I think you're referring to Evans old signings mate? Since Davey boy arrived we seem to scrutise player fitness far more, eg Cameron.

DF's signings generally haven't let us down imo

Sweeney 1 booking away from 2 game suspension, Preston 2 away I believe, DF had to plan for these suspensions which will surely come soone or later.

not just lard lads signings, we have quite a long history of signing crocks, getting them better and then they bog off, or retire early.

I think it’s a calculated gamble to cover possible suspensions. If I’ve understood things right, he’s only here until the end of the season. It’s not like we’ve given him a 2 year contract.

It seems a very good signing - provided he is going to be fit.

Suspensions are imminent, and who know what injuries could befall our back three. If he gets a game, he has the quality to then keep his place. That's the sort of signing we need.

We also need to appreciate that we couldn't have any more loan players ..... so the choices would have been very limited ... and I imagine that this was by far the best choice of the available options. Fingers crossed on the injury-front!

Good defender and can do a job to see us through and don't think if injury serious they would have taken him as I think now in DF we trust!!.

Looks a sensible gamble. Highly experienced player so should be able to fit in quickly. Probably told that he'll have to sit on the bench a lot at first but always has a chance of proving worthy of a regular place should he be required to cover for injury or suspension. If he does well, who knows what next season may bring.

We gain promotion and he's part of it I can't see him rejecting an approach from us. I feel the 6 month deal is more for his security in case we don't make it. He's probably said he wants league one football and we countered with well we could be in 6 months time.
