Butcher is probably not the worst player but he is a luxury we can't afford.

What position is he supposed to excel in?

Anderson was played at RB. Butcher barely played, Byrom left us. Potter left.

I like how you left Mellis and MacDonald off your list.

So Mellis is still a regular and MacDonald is injured so who, out of those listed, is better than Bishop?

We are better off points wise than last season and after 20 games we have won the same amount of games as we had last season we have just converted some of the losses last season into draws.

I don't think it's a case of they are crap. Just we have got better in the midfield area and by extension are surplus to requirements for the wage they are commanding.

I agree we have players surplus to requirements, but their high wages mean we will find it difficult to move them on until their contract expires.

Didnt Atkinson agree to his contract being renegotiated. Maybe that's why he has been more involved.

I don’t think any of Atkinson, Butcher and Anderson are rubbish. I’d argue both Atkinson and Butcher have come in and done as asked when they have even if some fans don’t appreciate it.

But it’s one of the problems you get with changes of manager when you already have a large squad (ask nottm county!), if you can’t shift players on it can be difficult to fit them in. All would get in another team in the league but I expect like many we’re paying them more than others would want to? Can’t blame the players for that. The downside is as many have stated it ties up wages that DF could spend on players he’d play more often but would we be having this thread on another set of players DF isn’t playing?

Never said any were better but they got us in a fantastic position in mid February . We have gone with a small squad this season ,so decent quality subs like Atkinson ,Butcher and Khan are a must.

Trouble is most of us believed him, including the Radfords I suspect. :)

Khan will come good, Butcher for me looks lost and uninterested when I see him on the pitch.

Anderson, we don't know the whole story, but I thought he was ok last season and far too good to be ignored this term.

I would love to see us sign Mo Eisa and/or Adelakun on loan from Bristol City with the option to sign on a permanent in the summer when we go up. Neither are playing and would both be a class above in this league, however they will most likely end up in L1 if anywhere.

If the top of the table team needs a better goal scorer in January - then so do we ...... even more so.
I hope that DF can secure that vital missing ingredient in this transfer window - Promotion will depend on it.

Didn't we also outbid the Imps to sign Lee Angol? ....... Another great Steve Evans signing!

Don't necessarily see much of a competition in fairness. If they think it's a competition fair enough but to me at one point they where our B team and that trumps everything they throw at us.

In fact without being our B team they may well still be in the conference.

Green, Rhead, Palmer, Arnold, Waterfall to name but a few.

Jusy saying ;)
