For those not fortunate to see the magic that was Waggy, on the Shirebrook history facebook page are 10+ goals he scored for Hull looking a bit overweight but brilliant. Its from the Hcfc archive. Not seen any of the goals for the Stags on the net but did in person.

Unfortunately there are none of Waggy's goals for Mansfield available on video footage. A real shame.

Sadly, Waggy was just on his way out when I started to support the Stags. I would have loved to see him and Chapman score over 30 goals each in the same season.

Waggy is the only player as far as I know to be two clubs best ever player. He was brilliant alongside big Roy Chapman. He also scored many goals for Hull alongside Chris Chilton, who in Waggy's words was a better player than Roy.Oh to have someone like him today.

I saw waggy and Roy at lincoln in the sixtys won 6/2 waggy scored lots of goals off Roy’s rebounds , love to see some guys similar in the January sales , that would be the icing on the cake for this great season and great Redford family 1946/47 stag

Was that the game when Roy scored from his own half?

Waggy was before my time unfortunately, but I remember my dad talking very fondly of him. And my elder brother used to wax lyrical about Duncan Mackenzie (also just before my time). I would have loved to have seen those two in the same team.
Still at least I got see Jimmy Mac & Ray Clarke - and Dave Caldwell (bless him!) - but I appreciate that Waggy (& Chapman) were possibly a class above.

Yes Clarke and jimmy Mac were special but having seen them all, Waggy and Chapman were the best. Met Waggy on and off the park, nice honest bloke.
