I thought Paul Green was excellent for Crewe at Field Mill. He can still do a job for someone in League 2 even at the age of 35. He'll probably sign for Crewe though.
David Flitcroft had Ollie Banks on loan at Swindon earlier this season. He played well against us at the County Ground. My comment after the game was:
"I thought Matt Preston, Matty Taylor and Ollie Banks were Swindon's best players yesterday. They were the three who I would not have minded in our squad. I'd also still take Marc Richards even though I thought Bennett and Pearce dealt with him well yesterday."

I thought Peterborough have a habit of listing players on the transfer market, but not actually selling them, because no one's interested or their valuation is not met? I'm sure Marriot was listed last season, and never actually sold, this summer it could be different though, as I expect Evans wants his own players in.
And how do we know that Danny Rose cant play under Flitcroft, he really prefers someone balling him out the entire game, because a couple of times at the Mill, he looked really peeved at Evans! And if Peterborough want our players they can pay what they are worth, and please don't sign Ricky Miller!

Agree, this has got MK Dons written all over it I reckon. They'll splash out a bit on a striker that's proven at this level to try and bounce straight back up and if he's available he fits the bill. Akinde will probably see it as a decent move because of the stadium etc and it's not too far. Would love to see us have a crack at getting him though.

Akinde has been disappointing this season. I think Hemmings has scored more goals. Dennis would be a better signing.

My choice over Akinde would be The beast - Akinfenwa. He has got both Wimbledon & Wycombe promoted - a proven and consistent striker at his level.

So you would like us to sign a player who is going to 36 in a couple of days ?

We should have had Akinde when he was at Alfreton, missed out big time.
I’d be looking at the following
George Maris (Cambridge)
Kristian Dennis (Non league Chesterfield)
Timi Elsnik (Derby, was on loan at Swindon)

Not saying we should be going in for him but why does the fact he's turning 36 matter? He was voted Wycombes player of the year and his game doesn't rely on pace whatsoever so that's not an issue as he'll still be just as strong. He's scored 17 league goals this season so that's not to be sniffed at and every team in the league struggles to handle him. He would undoubtedly be a better option than Spencer who offers no threat at all.
That said, he'll be staying at Wycombe I imagine!

Maris is being courted by Championship teams, no chance there.

Ade Akinfenwa would have been a great signing for Steve Evans as he clearly needed a target man when we played it long at times. He signed Jimmy Spencer and Lee Angol instead who must have won the fewest headers % wise in League 2.

Would take both Crawley wingers.
Boldewijn and Roberts
I also like Maris at Cambridge.
Miller would be a 100% yes for me.
All signable I think.
We need to be looking at signing the better players in league 2 I think rather than league 1 players.
This clearly didn't work.
I posted this the other week on the new striker thread forest town stag.

We need & always have wanted a goal scorer, fat boy missed out on his top three, Flip Flop must prioritise this position, get it right and we are half way there, fail &!he will be gone by Christmas
Our time will come

As above, Maris is being looked at by Championship teams, so doubt he is signable.

Yeah I saw that Musings. Maybe he is out of our reach a bit. The 2 wingers from Crawley are not though.
Flitcroft wants more goals from wide areas and these 2 especially Boldewijn would help.

Possibly, although Barry Fry was at the game to watch Crawley players, so maybe even those would be unattainable.

Why don't you trawl the rumour site's and find a tweet to back this up
