Fans choice seems to be John Sheridan.Currently 3 points of off the play offs in a league above them. You would have to question the intelligence of any manager who make that change.

John Sheridan threatened to quit after Carlisle beat Oldham 6-0 on Boxing Day. See Oldham thread.

They’ll probably go for the ‘cheap option’ and keep John Pemberton. He has coached at academy/ reserve level for Forest, Palace and Sheff Utd and had a couple of caretaker/assistant manager spells with reasonable results.

Let's hope Sheridan goes before we play them in a few days time.

Didn't the Spirites hierarchy take any notice of the Derbyshire times survey?

Doubt it. He might be daft enough for the Oldham job though.

Sheridan odds on. Seemingly unhappy at Carlisle and it’s a long old commute for him.

Still, other than for better money (which we don’t have anyway) you’d still have to be mad to want to take our job.

It is still a tempting job as there are way more than 100 managers with recent experience in for these jobs and only 92 employed in the Prem / FL at any one time.
Managers will make themselves available for interview but it depends on promises made by your Chairman/owner regarding future spending power/budgets which could be a stumbling block??
Mad Dog was tempted a few months back to actually leave a current job after he performed miracles and nearly saved Barnet from an improbable starting position. I thought at the time it was an amazing acquisition and probably the best you could do. Will the new man (or woman) do any better?
The more casualties you have in quick succession will indicate the problem is probably the owner and not the previous managers or his long term plan is crumbling under his feet and he is constantly changing his aims and goals.
Notts County are following your lead albeit they are a year behind your schedule. Both clubs have owners not scared to splash the cash and grant top end budgets comparable to your peers but both appear to have poor operational skills in running a football club resulting in massive wastage of revenue.

I agree with most of your post St4gs except the addition about the chairman long term plan crumbling looking at the new addition of Mr Bean history of closing businesses down including football clubs looks like his plan is well underway to completion

If we stay up a trip to Notts County is about as much as we have to look forward to, barring a takeover which seems some way off.

The current owner seems determined to extract as much of the money he should by rights lose through his own incompetence. Why should the new owners be burdened by paying for his mistakes?

The recent protests, both planned and unplanned have had an effect and there’s a worry at the top that things could easily get out of hand and become extremely uncomfortable for certain shareholders.

Who was it that blamed Chesterfield's relegation from League 1 and League 2 on the other directors insisting that Dean Saunders be sacked and then letting the same directors appoint Danny Wilson, Gary Caldwell and Jack Lester as manager? Who accepted no criticism for Chesterfield's relegations? Who then appointed Martin Allen as manager?

"Martin Allen is not politically correct and may not say the right things but I tell you this much he'll be bloody successful"

"There will be exciting times down here"

"Right man for the job. Right man, right time."

:hysteria: :hysteria: :hysteria:

Well worth another listen.

You're in dream land... Trying to extract what he can? Seriously... the same guy that is the only reason you have a club right now. You'll be losing money hand over fist each week in that league, with your costs and sqaud. Who do you think is STILL paying for that now to keep the lights on and players paid? Not you...

The new owners... That don't and won't exist anytime soon. Buying a struggling, bloated and toxic conference side with millions of debts to the current owner is about as enticing a prospect as sticking pins in your eyes.

Least when we protested we did a decent job of it.

Chesterfield doing their usual lame attempts and just being limp wristed softies. 25 chavs running on the pitch, really?

Hopeless from top to bottom, from outside to the core.

What's really the point in them protesting? Yes they want him gone, he knows that, but unless someone is prepared to stump up all the millions he wants, why would he walk away?

I can honestly see it only ending in a new club or somehow moving away from Tesco... unless they can stop the slide and all make friends. They're situation is similar to us now if we all turned on JR after it going seriously south on the pitch for the next 2 years.

Maybe you could advise.

just seen their thread on score predictions for the hartlepools game, whats surprising is not that so many think that they will win, but that so many think that they will keep a clean sheet.
delusions of grandeur, again.
my one regret is...i have no regrets!
