It's to avoid a conflict of interest.
Plus you have the flip side to that. A player finding an extra 10% against parent club to show them what they're missing.

If it's away at Manchester it might sound attractive, but the stadium will be almost empty and all the famous players having a day off. Get to the fifth round and they start to take it seriously because they have a good chance of winning the cup, and will play a strong side. And we get full coverage,.

Didnt realise it was automatic now, thought it was for the club to decide. Can understand why in the league but not the fa cup
Can loan players play in the FA Cup?
Players on temporary, short term loans are required to receive written permission from their parent club to play in the FA Cup match, which the FA must receive a copy as well. Players who are on season long loans do not require this written permission from their parent club.
The rules of the FA Cup did not explicitly say whether players are able to play against their parent clubs.
However for players on short term loans, they are required to receive permission from their parent club. A short term loan usually lasts between 3-6 months.
These loans are usually done in the winter transfer season.
For players who are on season long loans, they do not require any written permission from their parent club! As such, I believe that they are able to play in the FA Cup, as well as against their parent club.
Since the rules does not mention anything where a loan player cannot play against his parent club, the player on loan should be able to do so!

The stadiums wouldn’t be empty for some of the Premier league clubs as normally fans can’t get tickets. Remember Newcastle
