Still believe Clough isn't going anywhere but pressure mounting and needs some positive results soon. Things change quickly and I think he needs 3 points Saturday

Tranmere at home is Winnable. So is Sunderland or at least a reply if they play their kids as expected.

I think they will give Nigel a run against the "weaker (yet above us lol) teams" like Stevenage, Scunthorpe, Sutton, Crawley and Carlisle.. all winnable with more players back.

Someone will know, but when did we last let a manager add a new signing then sack them soon after?

Terry though... interesting. Who can we have on loan like what Lampard got given to him?

Yeah wanting a former England captain,, proven leader who won plenty of trophies, has tones of contacts, has taken coaching very seriously since retirement... says id sooner see something fresh, hungry and modern over the dross we're being served up now.
Sounds good, but what management experience has he ? What knowledge has he of league 2 ? Has he ever experienced a relegation battle ? Would be a massive gamble.

As a player he's worked under so so many quality managers in the game. He'll know a thing or two that he's picked up along the way, winning the premier League, champions League, fa cup, league cup etc...

He also got other contacts in the game as his cohort of players have moved into management.

After football, he's worked with Steve Bruce and Dean Smith at Villa.

He may not have been in a League 2 relegation scrap, but to be honest, he's a defender with national renown and will be able to attract players and get us playing, and defending properly.

Lastly, he can't do much worse than Nigel.

It’s got Harry Kewell, Kevin Nolan and Teddy Sherigham written all over it. No thanks.

If we want to go down the line of ex-England internationals the Curle, Ince or Campbell would be better

PEAR_CIDER was right about Nigel Clough, Danny Johnson, The Radfords moving to Portugal, the Sandy Pate refurbishment, the new awning over the ticket office, Guinness going up 10p and BigDave's clothesline.

The question is, would JT manage wearing a full kit, including shin pads? :O

All great credentials. Not sure they would help in a league 2 "firefight".

Was it Stuart Watkiss in charge away at Port Vale had a new lad on loan, Rhys Day, who was just signed and either didn't play or played at bit, we got stuffed and in the stand was the new manager as it transpired?

Wasn't it rumour that the new signing wasn't of the existing managers making but the 'new' manager hadn't been appointed until a few days later?

Sadly she thinks teams that play in front of good numbers of fans is a step down.
