29 Jan 2010
Blue Square Premier club Mansfield Town have signed goalkeeper Neil Collett after a series of trials.

Town boss David Holdsworth was impressed with the player's 'willingness to learn'.

He told This is Nottingham prior to completing the deal: "Neil comes highly recommended from the coaches at Coventry and he is a boy with ambition.

"But he has a willingness to learn, which very much goes in his favour, and is what we want."

And upon snapping up the 20-year-old former Coventry City and Nuneaton Town keeper, Holdsworth revealed: "I have been aware of Neil's abilities since the summer," he told the club's official website.

"It gives both parties the opportunity to see if something further can develop."

Collett is on a month-to-month contract.
