BBC Radio Nottm interview with Peter Shirtliff
transcribed by Martin Shaw Shirtliff: I can´t think of enough adjectives to describe how bad we were, inept, out-ran, outplayed. I am embarrassed. I can only apologise on behalf of the players who I hope are embarrassed by their performance. We are not working hard enough. I don´t know what´s wrong. In October, we played some good football. In November, we are not creating enough chances. Today was a totally inept performance. I don´t know what´s changed. It´s the same players. I refuse to defend them after that. I refuse to take the flack for that. It can´t be the managers fault that they´re suddenly playing this badly. It´s down to them. Are they going to work hard. Today was certainly lacking by a number of individuals. If some of them think they are in comfort zone, they can think again. If I can change it in 5 weeks (the transfer window) I will change it ... if I´m still here! The fans are chanting for Haslam Out but they are hiding behind that, its down to the players. I´m going to look at certain individuals on Tuesday. I´m not accepting that by any means. ------------ BBC Radio Nottm interview with Johnny Mullins transcribed by Martin Shaw Mullins: It wasn´t good enough, we know that, from start to finish. We never got going. It was disappointing. We all need to look at ourselves and come back fighting. We need to attack as a team and defend as a team. As defenders we need to improve. We need to create more chances. We didn´t do the basics right today. We´ve got to pick ourselves up, everyone´s disappointed, but we need to get back on a nice little run. Things happen that you can´t explain and we´re not performing to the levels we expect. There is the capability in the squad to do it. ------------ Audio interview with Peter Shirtliff from BBC Radio Nottingham (RealPlayer needed) WILL APPEAR HERE http://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/realmedia/football/2007/stags_rochdale_away_manager.ram ------------ |
