CURLE PRAISE FOR TRIALISTS
Evening Post, 17 July 2003 Stags manager Keith Curle said his trialists had impressed during a behind-closed doors friendly at Rotherham. The Mansfield Town boss said the result of the 2-0 defeat was irrelevant after he fielded a total of 19 players at the Nationwide Division One club's training ground. All his players came through unscathed and Curle said they all looked sharp in the game, which was played over three 30-minute periods. "It was the first competitive game they have played this season and they were looking good," he said. "The trialists gave a good account of themselves but I still need a few more games to look at them. "I was pleased with what I saw. The players have come back stronger, fitter and raring to go." |
