George Maris

George missed the game against Colchester due to personal reasons, he has just put on social media that he has lost his mam. It's heart breaking losing a parent, I feel for the bloke.

Im wondering if there is anything we can do as a fan base to show George some love and support? Even if it's a gofundme for a chosen charity of his and his family (any ideas welcome!)

Good post/idea

Think we often forget footballers are normal human beings and even more so at our level of football

Bloke needs his own song, been outstanding ever since he walked into the club.

Lovely thought and very kind, but some folk just like to get on with things quietly and privately.

Yeah you're right ScotsStag, everybody is different. I just thought it would be nice to show George that we are thinking of him and his family.

I lost my mum when I was 29, a similar age to George and I remember the love I got from friends and others which helped me during the grieving process :)

I met George a few weeks ago on Sheffield station and had a chat with him, he’s a genuinely nice person and my sincere condolences go out to him . Such a young age to lose your Mam .

He lost his dad when he was only 11 years old too.

Bless him.

Condolences to our George, you can dedicated the Lge 2 Trophy to her when you lift it. Hopefully you will be there to do it. But if not then we're all thinking of you.
