Be Good 92 League Club bike ride

Postby broomo » Thu Mar 14, 2024 2:43 pm

Hi All,

Appreciate this is very early but the sooner I raise funds the faster I can support the project.

Some of you will know the charity work I've done off the back of the book, 22k donated so far, multiple charities supported as well as around 100 children supported with kit, training, equipment and days out.

I'm going to cycle the 92 League Clubs plus Wembley, starting August 10th/11th at the Stadium of Light, Newcastle and Carlisle day one and finishing back at the SOL 28 days later (Boro and Sunderland day 28)

I'm due at the One Call day 25 if anyone wants to come and say hello.

In the meantime any donations would be hugely appreciated, the first project I'm supporting is a local school, an alternative education provider who tale care of the most vulnerable children across Sunderland.

The target is £4,600 which I know is huge but broken down it's £50 per club.

Thanks for your support and it's never too early to "Be Good"

Thanks mate, so far the only Mansfield related support was paying 1k for the 10 Mascots at the Northampton game last season, I'd love to do more Mansfield based but being honest being based up here in Sunderland the projects are easier to find and manage.

Still have plans to move back to Notts asap though, work allowing.

Good luck Broomo. Sounds like an epic, unfortunately you might have to go to Chesterfield though.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Cheers AWC. Although I'm not a born and bred Stag I'll be mumbling a few choice words under my breath and will be sure to shake an angry fist at the Spire on my way out!

Some kind (and amiable) Stag has just pushed me over the £1000 mark as well ;)

Which is incredible considering the ride is still more than 4 months away. Mind blowing support.

Best of luck, pal. Sounds like a really good initiative.

If you can get any money from Chesterfield, the club, at least the locals will know their tax pounds are finally going towards something worthy.

Thanks Josh!

I've got a couple of mates who are involved at Chesterfield and despite the stereotyping (and the rivalry!) they're surprisingly decent and generous lads!

Good luck Broomo, one hell of a challenge. Who’s your preferred choice to join the Spireites at playing one division below us next season? I presume Gateshead would fit in nice logistically.

Just donated.

Thanks mate, much appreciated.

I'm actually training this time around. Last time I did 2.5k after a ten mile "practice run" this time I'm already doing 50 mile a day 3 days on 1 day off, so should be ready.

Gateshead would be good, got a fair few mates who support them but I'd probably prefer Oldham to sneak in there. Proper club, good owners.
