Harrogate scorefred sponsor by <insert "witty" remark here>

In here for all you frdding needs

Fred sponsor I drew a blank one. HitchcocksShins.... Give me a good one to use please.

The referee for Thursday night will be Scott Oldham. Perhaps famous for being the man in charge earlier this season when we smashed Notts County 4-1.

Martin had this to say: "Scott Oldham 9 Had a great game. Should have punished the elbow by Crowley on Reed."

However in more Harrow-gate-ing news (sorry - ish) he was also the man in charge for last seasons 3-0 loss away to Harrogate.:

Although Martin rated him: "6 Did ok. The bookings were reasonable but he missed a booking for a bad foul on Wallace."

He reffed us in our 3-2 home loss to Bradford back in August 2021

Martin rated him "5 Bradford should have been reduced to ten men after 35 minutes when Cousin-Dawson was fractionally late on the ball and his studs crashed into Maris’s leg half way up, on his knee. Maris had to go off injured later."

He's reffed us a lot. Now we go back to March 2021 in our 3-1 win over Cheltenham

Martin rated him: "Scott Oldham 7 Correctly waved away Cheltenham appeals for a penalty. In my opinion, he was also correct to only show the Cheltenham keeper a yellow card for bringing down Reid, though it wasn’t much reward for the Stags. It was the only yellow card of the game."

He reffed us twice in 19/20. 1st up a 1-0 loss away to Crawley.
Martin rated him: "Scott Oldham 5 Poor decision to award Crawley the penalty."
2nd game was a 1-1 draw away to Morcambe
Martin rated him: "Scott Oldham 7 Handled the game well."

He reffed our 2-2 draw with Bury! (remember them!)
Martin rated him: "5.5 Got the Rose goal correct. Correctly turned down a Bury appeal for penalty. With his linesman, missed a stonewall penalty when Mellis was tugged down by his shirt. 7 minutes of stoppage time was at least 2 too many. Some trivia from Paul Taylor: S.Oldham was the original referee for the home game vs Barnet on 3 February 2018. That was the first time he was allocated a Stags game, however, he went off injured after 20 minutes to be replaced by T.Bramall who was our referee against Oldham earlier this week!" Random long rating there Martin!

No prizes for guessing his next game. However goals happened after he went off and the rating is more for the 4th official so I won't include it here.

Anyway, back on subject. Can see a 2-0 win for us. Swan and Nichols both assisted by Clarke who is coming into right form just when it’s needed

Updated my original post to include previous games he's reffed us.

Technically Tuesday will be his 9th game reffing us, although his first game he went off injured after 21 minutes.

I have used alternating colours to improve readability (probably full of spelling/autocorrect mistakes still) Not sure how it looks on other devices so if it isn't right on a different theme let me know.

Harrogate are in good form. Last ten games they’ve won 7, drawn 2 and lost 1.

5 of their 7 wins were against the current bottom 5. The other two were home wins against Accrington and County, both bottom half away sides. Two draws away at Morecambe (same as us) and away at Stockport (we won). One defeat at home against Tranmere (we drew).

Harrogate on great form and their away record puts them in 3rd, 3 points behind ourselves and behind stockport on away GD.

These won’t be the side we battered early in the season and will be a tough ask, they recently drew away at stockport. Given the away win saturday a draw wouldn’t be the end of the world, though of course another win would be what we’re all after.

I think we now have players fit and available who can vary the formation we play to. The ability to swap formation to suit during the game will be the key to winning a hard fought game and we will run out 3-1 winners.
