Pym
Johnson Flint Cargill Mclaughlin
Reed Brunt
Clarke DKD Quinn
Akins

Reed and Brunt looked tired as a pairing tonight but so did Maris so don't think we have much flexibility in that area. Definitely possible that Reed or Brunt are rested for Oates and we go back to the diamond but I think the extra cover defensively may be necessary with the standard of the opposition and the inevitable tired legs.

Mansfield 2-1 Stockport with Akins and Mclaughlin to score, COYS!

I'm not a massive fan of Reed and Brunt playing together, I'd choose one or the other and on current form Reed drops to the bench for me.

Think teams have learnt to mark the player playing in front of the back 4 out of the game, which is one reason why I think we've moved to 2 players there.

One thing for certain is that in a game of this magnitude, we all seem to agree that Ollie Clarke MUST play.

Hopefully that's why his minutes have been limited in preparation of getting him more rested ready for this big one.

Will the quick turnaround affect how soon we sub Quinny off too though? Usually Quinn makes way for Clarke coming on, so does that bring Boateng back onto the bench?

Personally I'd go back to DKD being in the hole rather than a central striker. I think we need Oates (as poor as his finishing is) to get their centre halves facing their own goal more and giving them runs in behind to worry about.

Reed has been off his usual high standards for a while, but I think on a better surface than ours, and in a high pressure game, he seems to come to the party and dictate things a lot better.

All the points and the negative Nelly's back in their box as quickly as they're eager to get out.

Stockport are undoubtedly a good team at this level and no-one should underestimate how difficult this game will be. That said they have had a few hiccups lately and like us, seem to be tiring a little.

Players shouldn’t need to be motivated for this game and I expect our team to give their all. We should take confidence from coming back from being behind against them at The One Call and I believe we will take at least a point. A little bit of luck could see us take all three points and we need to get stuck in straight from the off. A 2-2 draw or possible 3-2 win.

I'd take a draw. We won at home, so a draw away is great form against the league leaders. Even a loss is 3 points each. However a win, maximum points, against the league leaders would be superb.

I like that line up, I think Quinn may only have 45 left in the tank after this week. Maybe swap for Macca at half time.

That's a more attacking lineup than in the last two games at home to teams in the bottom half. Can't see Cloughie going with that. I'd like to see it though.

Macca has to play instead of bowery.bowery ok on the right.no good on the left.not keen on reed and brunt in same position.the players will be up for it for sure.might find a place for Lewis and Oates.

Would love to see that line up and as a real statement to say we're not looking to avoid defeat but to win the game. Bench of Bowery, Swan, Maris, Lewis, Reed, MacDonald all give options if we do need to change it up.

I know this has probably been covered before but it's the first time I've forgot.
I've not picked up my ticket for Stockport match, do they take the tickets to Stockport to be picked up at the ground? And if so would I just pick them up from the Stockport ticket office?

We think we need an extra defensive midfielder away from home. But if we do that and push DKD up top he doesn't really play up there leaving Akins isolated and giving the ball away so the oppostion have more attacks therefore we need that extra DM. Play Oates up with Akins that give DKD far more space, the ball sticks up front loads more therefore not needing the extra DM. The more defensive you set up the more you give possession away the more you have to defend the less you attack.
