The best player to ever play at Field Mill?

Nobody going to mention George Best, ok he was playing with Fulham at the time, but he was still George Best ( and wasnt Bobby Moore in the samer Fulham team?). Personally, it has to be Duncan McKenzie.

Didn't know George Best had played at field mill. But if he did, then yeah that would be the clear answer

I was at the Fulham game in the late 70s, I don't think George played.

Seem to recall Neville Southall a few years ago.. Think he was at Torquay.. Has to be the best keeper to visit the Mill

Jordan Pickford whilst on loan at Darlington playing at the Mill looked good, but as Stags were good and Dario were awful we put five past him.

Just read this whole thread and after initially reading the title of it my first thought was Luis Suarez.......yes he cheated, but he was a world class player before at the time and after the fixture...

Did David Beckham play at Field Mill for Preston NE in 94-95 ish ?.....did he not score direct from a corner or is my memory playing tricks on me (Not hard these days)
I seem to remember we lost either 2-1 or 3-1
Becks was obviously a young pup back then and not in the class of Suarez at the time.

Yes I remember that game. He got a hat trick and was brilliant. Then again, I think he was being marked by Les Robinson who was barely 5 feet tall.

I remember Peter Beardsley playing for Hartlepool at the end of his career. He came over to take a corner at the North Stand end. One Stags fan shouted "hey Beardsley respect man". It produced a big grin and a friendly wave from PB. Lovely moment.
