A great result, another bogey side put to bed.
I wish we could be playing these games in hand very soon.
There's a mini gap starting to form between the top 4 and those below.

Yes great win
Was always not going to be a 5 nil win after they took 8 last week
Good to have Quinn back I think he lifts the team as the veteran
Brunt showing class above league 2
Pity as said Wrexham win but we have to concentrate on our results
Good to have Clarke back and Macca coming slowly back into the fold
Well done and hope we can get max points next 2 home games

I thought Lewis Brunt was exceptional in midfield. He got about the pitch well, got stuck in, kept the ball moving. It was the best I have seen him play.

And with that said, Flint and Cargill really are a match made in heaven at CB. It’s light work for them and whenever they play together they seem to excel.

The options we have are great, and it’s quite staggering that we aren’t sat in the top 3 as we speak. Keeps us hungry though, carry on doing what we are doing and we will end the season successful. 2 winnable home games now, need to convert that in to 6 points!

Totally agree, Brunt was my MOM and Cargill and Flint are a great pairing. The sort of win you have to get to go up, calm, efficient and rarely in doubt. Great to see Macca back, he's absolute quality.

Barrow are spoiling the party! I’m worried they’re going to keep going.

A good friend of mine is a Barrow fan. At the start of the season he said if we finish above Mansfield we will achieve promotion. They are at home to Stockport on Boxing Day.

Pym mom for me. Had little to do, but kept his concentration to make two very good crucial saves.

I think MOM was between Brunt and Clarke (who faded a bit 2nd half, but did manage to get in his obligatory yellow).
Johnson also played well and Pym did what was required.
We have 25 games left and 14 of these are at home, where we may need to set up slightly more attacking minded to break teams down.

Thought Clarke was outstanding to be honest. So much energy. The already mentioned Brunt and Johnson too.

Have a fantastic Christmas all, see you Boxing Day.

If you’d have said that we’d have won away at accrington, harrogate and sutton while still behind barrow but yet averaging exactly 2 points a game at christmas i’d have called for the nurse.

Stockport play 2nd 10th and 4th(us)

Someone is dropping points.

If Stockport vs Barrow is a draw we need to win to go into the autos. With games in hand. Then we would be 5 points off with 2 games in hand and still to play them.

a perfect Christmas could see us top with games in hand. Now that would be very nice indeed.

I thought Clarke was excellent today, my MOM in difficult conditions against a side with everything to play for. A great 3 points and agree Pym did just what was needed in the moment.

Gonna be a massive first 4 months as we head in to 2024 COYS

Arguably the best 3 points this season for me.

In times gone by we would have wilted under the aerial bombardment and lost this game comfortably, not with Flint and Cargill at CB now not a chance.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

If Barrow beat Stockport, which I can definitely see happening and we beat Grimsby, we will go top on Points per game

Mulled over going on Sat morning and thought in the end 'bloody hell get yer scarf n go lad'
So I did, and a steady trundle ensued.
What a hole is GGL and it has to be said is only fit for non League, which is where it will be next season.
The game, at 1-0 I as most Stags there will have been worried that Utd would pox a late leveller but as soon as Lukey smashed one in they died.
To be honest Utd are woeful.

Theirs but to do and die

We would still be behind Stockport even on PPG if we won on Boxing Day and Stockport lost to Barrow

They would be on 49 from 24 (2.04 PPG)
We would be on 45 from 22 (2.05 PPG)
Very close but we would be above them

Yes, we would be 4 points off top with 2 games in hand. In my example above, I suggested a draw because Barrow would get 3 points meaning they would be 1 point ahead of us.
If they (Barrow/Stockport) draw and Wrexham draw/lose to Swindon then we take 2nd. With a game in hand still on those below us and 2 on the team 5 points ahead of us (Who we also play on Jan 1st.

To be fair, for us to come out of Christmas period in 1st it would require Stopckport's form to fall off a cliff. Having said that though they are playing promotion rivals.
