Maybe they can develop The Bish as part of the deal.....I'd say we need that more but it's Mr Radfords money

I've been saying for ages we ought to be building on that old top pitch, it's a huge unused space.

In the article it says there will be a retail store (new club shop maybe?) and a small club house. Sod that, get a big club house built, Sandy's can't cope on match days, we need somewhere spacious for fans to go and have a drink. Especially in the colder months when fans don't want to be outside, we are all herded in there like cattle.

Agree, save some space for a massive Sports Bar. Screens everywhere, good snap, good ale, discounts for Season Ticket holders on non matchdays to get them back in watching midweek football, the works.

It’s a random one having a padel centre, but it will be making better use of the space at least. Hopefully Radford has pocketed a good chunk of money off the back of it!

For those interested - here is the link to the application.

Its not replacing the top training pitch, it's planned to go behind the 3G pitches. Anyone expecting a big clubhouse is going to be disappointed.
That said - I think it looks really good. Hope it goes through.

Padel is massive in Europe and is a great game ( played in 4's) .It also takes up much less space than tennis courts.

Didn't realise it was going in that space. That's sound then, more space on the top pitch to #BuildABoozer

I think anyone hoping for a Stags club shop or a bit of a bar for us to utilize on match days is going to be bitterly disappointed, nothing aside from this sharing a plot of land with us, seems to say it has anything to do with MTFC.

I got excited i thought it said a 10 million pound project with the Padel board complex , i envisaged a big club shop, and a big social club with bars and restaurants and more parking.
Leading to a Stand on Bishop st, and a Hotel for visitors to Padel competitors, and football supporters, also covering visitors and business people to the area and District of Mansfield .
So it looks like it will be a purpose built canopy.
I hope they buy double of every thing, so we can have a purpose built canopy down side of the Ian Greaves stand so we can have a proper supporters zone, the full length of it
Where they can eat and drink in comfort,
A working mans hospitality, area where we can eat Hot Dogs=Pie and Peas=Chips=Jacket spud, and a pint.
Supporters have led the way with a couple of small covers out side Sandys bar, but the more comfort match day the bigger the gate and profit.
Mean while lets enjoy the progress on the pitch, and hope for a promotion and a interesting January,
Mean while MERRY XMAS to ALL

That is exactly how I read it, £10 to the club.

It's a shame its not £10m, but that money should be reinvested straight into the ground to help fund improvements urgently needed

Interesting video of it on the FT today. Like to know how the deal is structured.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

The club house looks like a shipping container to me. How many shipping containers could we fit on the Bishop Street if we stacked them 3 high?

Has part of the car park been sold to allow this to be built. Or will the building / land still be part of the stags.

looks like a partnership:

John Radford said: “I am delighted that we have formed a partnership with World Padel Academy (WPA) who plan to develop and operate padel
tennis facilities at the One Call Stadium."
